What are the main diferences between this and 3? Besides the "recruit forever" thing, AFAIK, there are new slow to recruit mages and the gengems now give gems in battle only.

The Shogun series has a Realm Divide mechanic. Grow too powerful and everyone will pile on you, even long standing allies.
