my 1997 ranger has never had problems with ball joints and is at 146,000 miles. I do live in area that doesn't salt roads though.

Man, a local specialty dealer has three different Nissan King Cab's on the lot right now.    They say "asking $2400" but I've bought from these guys before and they are always quick to deal. All three are 5 speeds, all three are 4x4s.

My dad has an '08 Tacoma 4cyl auto that he bought new and uses to commute to work. It's always struck me as utterly nutless (even next to my 88 comanche) but it gets up to highway speed (eventually) and hauls a load in the bed like I would never expect.
