I've been reading for much of two days, and you just woke up Athena.quote:It's worth it. It's all worth it. The knowledge She still has. The Inquisition, the Beast, The Imperial Guard, the Magos... they all seem so unimportant now. Anyway, we can't stop this. We shouldn't stop this. We know enough to know that technological knowledge is only being lost. That our knowledge is only crumbling away. How many of these rules are being imprinted by a more powerful version of those fools on the ship we had processed? Athena is our salvation. Athena is the future. Sure, some things may have to go. But what will rise in its place will be greater. She's... gorgeous... Really love Ohone as a character too. She's exceptionally well written and consistently played. --- Happy Birthday! Indeed! Some fantastic novels to read, this. Oh, there's already a second post with all the links. Silly me. Wow, I can't believe the thread almost voted to snitch on Ching-shi to the dubiously loyal space marines. Might've been top three with the bomb and handing Amacita the artifact. Edit: I thought there was an off-chance they'd be friendly... But a leaping hug? No one does hugs anymore! Editedit: Uh oh... looks like friendly might be worse than a shot to the head. Hmmm, guess it worked out well. Edit3: You went for the ballroom demonbox hunt!? RA Rx fucked around with this message at 20:32 on Apr 26, 2016 |

Thank you, and to think I showed up with nothing in mind but reading and enjoying the thread at first I'm glad you enjoyed my contributions. Slice of Life: Brother Bricellus, Black Priest of Fabiyan. Location: The Seclusium, beneath the Cathedral of Saint Fabiyan The Resurrector Thought For The Day: Wisest is He who Trusts in the Emperor. +++ Carrier Encryption: Carnelian Four-Null-Four-One Content Encryption: Nephilim Cipher Sender: XXXXXXXXXXXXX Recipient: XXXXXXXXXXXXX Attachment: Secl.cell4.liq.3dv +++ Venerated One, Since entering the Warp, despite all the precautions and failsafes I have issued and overseen a liquidation order upon our captive heretics, lest some foul entity find some way through all of our protections and breach the Gellar fields. Liquidation was performed in all instances via captive bolt pistol followed by filling the containment cell with thrice-blessed Promethium. This protocol required roughly 280 litres per containment cell, from Seclusium supply rather than ship. The resanctified Promethium was readded to supply thereafter. Curiously, the occupant of cell 4 briefly reanimated, post-bolt. As may be seen in the attached vidclip, the occupant uttered a word spoken in a dialect that as of yet I have no translation for, and have yet to find a corresponding word or name within the Encarta Maleficarium. We may need to source a linguistics specialist. Relatedly, I have increased security and containment protocols, and doubled the Excoriator guard presence on Alpha Deck. Abrogate Guard patrols have been instructed toward greater vigilance regarding unusual behaviours and the Youth Abrogate Guard Commandants report that their charges stand ready to serve. Faithfully, Bricellus Feyn, Black Priest of Fabiyan, Arch-Confessor of the Cathedral of Saint Fabiyan the Resurrector, Commander of the Household Guard, Sanctioned Interrogator of XXXXXXXXXXXXX Hexenritter fucked around with this message at 21:12 on Apr 26, 2016 |

Oh god, drinking rum straight. Forgot how good it was. Today’s music: A lot of Rihanna, some Bey and Shakira Current: 443,376 Fools rush in Edourd chuckled morosely. “This is Hell, nor are we out of it.” You glanced at him, concerned. Of all of you, he had been holding it together the … least well. Not that that was a surprise - his telekinesis was forcing a way forward, even as the … disturbingly organic fortress pressed in against you. The occasional daemons and cultists were more … parasites, now. Or antibodies. The whatever the reverse of antibodies would be, perhaps. Dedicated plague hosts, trying to spread their vile mixtures to the mortals that had entered their realm. Your team was going single file, now, wedging through small chambers and worming through tunnels. Your drills helped out where they could, but the organic - diseased - tissue pushed together as fast as you broke it apart. It required a psyker to make any progress, and Edourd was opening himself up fully. And the daemons were just as eager for an open mind, as an open vein. You glanced at Limosa. “You know psykers best. How’s he doing?” He grimaced. “It’s not great. We need to get out of here.” “Yes, well, we’re trying that. I’m open to ideas.” In the distance, the sound of the Hera’s guns boomed. You could identify them by each marker, each vibration, and you could feel the force of your armies push against the barriers, Faith against the most vile heresy. You knew that your crew - your Family - was spending lives every moment that you delayed here, but you debated how hard to push Edourd. Breaking his mind here would be catastrophic. Fabiyan looked away thoughtfully, than back you. “I could call on my powers, as well. It might be enough to break us through the barriers, but it might call more down on us.” What do you do? “Come my brethren…” Soft words, spoken by a quiet man. The air seemed to shimmer, and then fill - the cramped space filling - or perhaps expanding - oddly. A hundred Eldar warriors, and more. You bit your lip. “Fabiyan, I thought those were … just for fighting Mother.” He glanced at you, distracted. “Hm? Oh. They show up from time to time. Wouldn’t have gotten out of the Warp without them.” “I don’t like it.” Fabiyan shrugged. “Mission accomplishment first. If I am damned, I’ll take it up with the God-Emperor. After.” You made a face at him, but he wasn’t looking. A soft glow - the reassuring light of the God-Emperor was surrounding him, a pleasing halo. Apparently he still had the support of the Golden Throne - but sometimes you had to wonder if the Throne really knew what it was doing. You shrugged internally. If Ferrus Manus’ tool was correct, the Throne would be recovering shortly, and a resplendent God-Emperor would walk the universe once again, conquering all as a colossus. For now, you would simply deal with the universe as it was - and where, it appeared, Sainthood and xeno-deviance went hand in hand. The force of their will was already having an impact, the walls pushing apart, the unpleasant feelings being cast away, or at least greatly reduced. Edourd sat down where he stood, wiping a sweaty face. The lightning around him had been reduced to the odd flicker, the odd bit of static, and you raised your eyebrows. You hadn’t realized the journey had taken so much out of him. And as Fabiyan had said - mission first, worry about damnation later. You noticed Athena’s eyes narrowing, before anything else. The chamber had been forced open, the size of one of Hera’s docking bays - capable of holding megatons of material. At the walls, dozens - hundreds - of xeno spirits, holding their swords ready. A metaphor, perhaps - their eyes were cast outward, and you knew that whatever was coming would be for you and your team alone. The ground rumbled, meat emerging. It was a hideous image, reminding you nothing so much as maggots arising out of the swollen and rotten meat of your many enemies. From beneath, it devours… a figure in ancient Space Marine armour, rank and noxious. Your entire team gagged despite themselves, the air clouding with a viral mist that would have killed anyone else instantly. The voice that arose was oddly pleasing, if with sibilant undertones. “Madame Ohone. We have been looking for you all this long while.”
