How many of you goons moaning for Frank Millers death over having different political views from yourself are anti death penalty?

His interpretation of the human form is way more offensive, anyway.

Promethea is also good except for the part where the teenage girl has sex with the creepy old unkempt magician and loves it because of how great he is because he's studied tantric sex techniques and also who is definitely not supposed to be Alan Moore

oh it's like that issue of lost girls where alan moore appears like lazarus long and spends the entire issue giving speeches in an attempt to make you understand why drawing porn of famous literary girls and then having sex with them is actually erotic freedom and enlightenment and you're a stupid if you don't agree

Sin City rules but Frank Miller is horrible.

His super stylized post-noir story-scape was hugely inspiring for a generation of kids who wanted a darker, grittier story and images, and he really deserves the respect those earned him because as comics guy, his Sin City/300/Dark Knight stuff is absolutely at the pinnacle of comics as we know them.

I am unsurprised that he is a racist lunatic and just hope he has the decency to die before writing a book where Marv hunts down some Islamic abortionist or something.

Real talk if you cannot appreciate Sin City then please go read Dilbert or whatever the gently caress IT-office nerd poo poo you got, I'll be over here with the cool guy sex-havers reading our black & white titty/gun comics for adults. lovely people make real art sometimes.

Real talk though he looks like the grandpa from Hey Arnold! but I know he wouldn't be as cool IRL.

Actually promethea's only good quality was the decent art, which was hampered by the wordy bullshit that took half the page and hid most of the interesting drawings

and that particular part you mention is where I decided I wouldn't read 30 more issues of that piece of poo poo "hmmm yeeeess have the sexy underage girl have gently caress with author guy who KNOWS ALL THE poo poo ABOUT LIFE this is totally not alan moore you guys"

After that Promethea gpes on amazing journey through time and space (which is of course based on the Tarot) and another Promethea shows up who is a tough bisexual chick who totally owns that creepy old guy, then that homophobic old FBI agent realises that he really was gay for the version of Promethea who was really male, then there's an issue of you (yes, you the reader) meeting Promethea who tells you how amazing Alan Moore's philosophy on life is, there's a terrible meta-ending to the whole ABC Comics line, and then another issue about the Tarot, or maybe the Kabbalah.

Unlike you, I was desensitised to Alan Moore, which was both my triumph and my tragedy. I think he's still doing comics about younger women who go for older men.

Saga is a pretty good comic book series and I hope HBO picks it up for a TV series.

The only thing you need to know about saga is this:

and that's five pages in and it just keeps going up from there

Genuine big fan of Alan Moore, but yeah the wizard-sex and everything from about halfway through Book 4 of Promethea onward sucks the big one, and Moore is so firmly rooted in his "dirty old man" phase of writing it either indicates he gets so much sex he doesn't know how to talk about anything else or more likely he really really wants to be that guy.

Even Dark Knight Returns blows. It's so loving ugly I didn't even realize that I had no idea what was even happening until I tried to read it again a few years ago.

When they autopsy Miller they'll discover a degenerative brain disease that slowly warped his perception down to where he didn't realize he had stopped using color or started distorting the human form.

Sometimes when I hear about comic book people and their terrible beliefs and behavior I get really worried that I read so many comic books when I was an impressionable child. I loved John Byrne Fantastic Four and X-Men by Chris Clairmont, and Alan Moore and Frank Miller and there's probably so much weird rape and scary libertarianism mixed all up in there that I worry about what it did to my developing brain.

Also those stories are cool, the art is gorgeous, evocative and haunting and the writing has amazing personality.

Like I get you hate cool stuff, ok, but these comics are good by many metrics so I don't get where your criticism comes from.
