Hawaii actually outright dropping football would be kind of a big deal, if for no other reason than it's been two decades since the last time this happened when Pacific dropped in 1995—and if I'm not mistaken there have only been three other programs to drop since the FBS/FCS split stabilized in the early '80s (Wichita State '86, Long Beach State '91, CSU Fullerton '92). Oddly, I don't think any teams have gone from FBS to FCS in that time.

Tampa dropped right before the split happened and it turns out that Boston University was never a IA team. Aside from Pacific, those were the only ones I even knew off the top of my head that dropped football at any recent point.

A big part of that was probably a result of the NCAA making all the DI schools who had DII/DIII football teams move them up to FCS (or higher; hi UAB) in the '90s; not every school was prepared for that, it turns out.

Heaps held out the scrimmage tonight to "rest his arm". Who's ready for the Miami Hurricanes 1/2/3rd string for UL being True Freshman, True Freshman, and a True Freshman that hasn't practiced QB in College.

You mean Adam Taylor (who was an unknown commodity; given our RB depth, not too stressed about that position). And whether Alexander would've started over Gerry this year ... I dunno. We do need depth back there, though. Also lost DL Aaron Curry — he's transferring to OU. Was clearly not going to start.

Thinking they're gonna have a slightly down year (like 7-8 wins or so) does not mean that people hate them or want them to fail. And it certainly doesn't mean they want Ohio loving State to win anything. anne frank fanfic posted:People forget OSU is one of the best regular season teams just cant win any games that matter, like OU (caveat if OU is the underdog for a specific game) They win those a lot of the time too, honestly. Ohio State could have the 3rd string QB from Denison and still get to 10 wins with that schedule. It's not exactly a brutal one this year.
