They were obviously expecting the game to be really boring, so they overprepared their meaningless filler jabber.

It's actually a pretty interesting game, they should just shut up and let us enjoy it.

One reason I'm really psyched for late season is that if Baylor's legitimately good enough for a playoff run, we'll beat OU and probably go undefeated and by november people will hopefully have shut up about playing loving SMU.

Hoping that ESPN is simply getting their talking points out of the way early as this is the first game and the first time these guys have had an audience in 8 months. This has been pretty terrible commentary and I'm already tired of hearing them talking about the antitrust and playoffs.

They don't really care about this game because it's between teams they think nobody cares about, forgetting that people/addicts just want to watch football.

ESPN is just promoting their own agenda and completely ignoring the game. They have nothing to gain by promoting the game because they have no contracts with either school. My hatred of all things related to ESPN is as incandescent as the field.

A few years ago, ESPN got me to pretty much stop watching the NFL when one of their guys said (and this is a quote) "everyone in America would benefit from sitting down with Brett Favre for five minutes."

Yes, it would be a boon for everyone to bask in his radiance for just a fleeting moment and allow him to wash over you.
