It's somewhat silly that Remember Me, a game in which everyone has a computer in the base of their skull that lets you alter memories, has more believable hacking than this game does. which reminds me, someone needs to lp that game Also: the driving mechanics and physics are terrible, you can accidentally sideswipe a car and depending on the whims of the game you'll either have a horrible crash or the other vehicle will disintegrate harmlessly into it's constituent polygons. The game has some absolutely bog stupid missions that require you to do some very precise driving and they're very frustrating. Kurieg fucked around with this message at 05:55 on Aug 31, 2014 |

I think I only got about 8 hours into the game before I gave up. After about the third mission where the solution was "ignore the actual objectives because the mission as written is impossible" I realized that the game didn't want to be played.

Jordi is simultaneously the game's most charismatic and likeable characters and also the one that causes you the most grief in terms of gameplay and the plot. He's the kind of guy that you'd invite to a Kegger. Bring an old-timey powder-keg, blame you for not being specific enough, and blow up your house because he's already got the keg.

I kind of wanted that game they showed at E3 where you threaten people with an unloaded gun and beat them down because actually getting your hands on heavy ordinance would be difficult. This game is just a generic open world game with lots of unexplained cell phone magic but none of SR4's ridiculousness. Like apparently hand grenades are not only wi-fi enabled but on the citywide network... but guns aren't because that would mean you could actually disable guns and be hacker batman instead of Aiden Pierce unlikeable sociopath.

I'm pretty sure I was able to turn off the online part of the game. There was a notice that it would reset my notoriety but I'm reasonably certain I turned it off before I quit playing.

Yes, they're alive. No, they're probably not going to be walking for a few years.

Then it takes a great big artifacted dump on your favorite rug that doesn't go away once you clean it.

Okay, that car stealth mission at the beginning, I couldn't do that the "legit" way, however there is a giant empty field of grass behind some buildings. You can drive up the sidewalk and through the grass, dragging a park bench in your wheel well, and the helicopters won't bat an eye because they aren't programmed to notice you if you're not on the streets.

You didn't comment on it, but I believe that woman outside the porn filming room is hardcoded to have "Mentally Disabled" as her trait. This game does not treat women well, and it isn't going to improve.

The thing I remember about Watch_Dogs was before the release there was this real emphasis on non-lethal takedowns, and that you were trying to do good things to protect innocent people. Even when you were tracking down that guy in the club you just exposed him and knocked him out (Ignoring the fact that knocking someone unconscious isn't precisely 'non-lethal' in the real world it's a common enough trope that I'd let it slide)They made it sound sort of like a stealth game where you used your hacking skills to compliment your stealth rather than as an aggressive weapon. Two years later I got the game, ended up running missions for gang-bangers, taking down a convoy of drug smugglers in the middle of a populated street with a grenade launcher, blowing up cops with their wi-fi enabled grenades, and not doing much hacking at all besides just walking down the street and waiting for square prompts to pop up. That was the last game I pre-ordered without knowing drat sure that the company is going to deliver what they say they're giving.
