My first completely retarded death of the tournament:

<Sequell> 3120. LordSloth the Shatterer (L17 OgBe of Trog), splashed by an acid blob's acid on Slime:2 on 2014-08-31 00:39:09, with 179729 points after 38368 turns and 2:37:08.

Going in slime without rCorr. I -almost- went into hell instead, since it was on Lair:8.

Any advice on how to proceed and what to look out for?

Just a postmortem note on this, and this seems to be a somewhat common mistake. When you are pushing through the midgame, do the absolute easiest thing you can on that character at that given time. For a melee character worshipping Chei, a branch full of fast things and things that don't want to be near you is the thing you should be absolutely dreading. Just looking at your morgue file, you only went as deep as D9 and L3. I clear to D15 and L8 nearly *every* game before I even touch rune branches, because that poo poo is usually easier to do. The only time I don't is if there is some really scary unique or map layout that I just don't want to deal with, but the logic still applies: Do the easiest thing you can do at that moment.

That's a 0.15 change as far as I know.

Tele traps with items on them are usually minivaults where the trap is permanent. I don't know if the random traps generated by level generation can occur on spaces with items on them.
