Well the subject pretty much covers it, the forums have not been looking good for the past few days. I thought it was some sort of CSS error and just lived with it, but then I found out I was the only one with the problem. I disabled all the plug-ins with no change, and upgraded to 37.0.2062.94 (64-bit) but am still having the problems. This is chrome on kubuntu 14.04 - does anyone have any idea what might be causing this?

Did you try a clean Chrome profile? Are you sure other sites are rendering normally? Have you tried Firefox?

I haven't tried a clean chrome profile, but firefox renders SA with the same problems. All other sites are having no issue. It's definitely a strange one - the computer is about due for a complete reinstall anyway so I'm moving to linux mint and will see if the issue persists.

All fixed after a complete system reinstall. After a bit of investigation I strongly suspect it was caused by a bunch of pango-dev libraries & apis I had to install while compiling this remote desktop app for an academic cluster. Still pretty weird that SA was the only place it effected. Thanks for the help.
