I'll be taking Saboteur #2 and the Fire Sprites' turns in about six hours. Can't use Paint.NET at work. Sorry for the delay.

If anyone can pop the sprite grabbing me I might be able to do something, I hope e: I just saw you said we could not worry about the original weapon draw, in that case can I change that original action to a minor to reload after firing? X-Strike doesn't give any rules for how it works - it just says "attempt something the rules don’t cover (as detailed in the D&D 4E Dungeon Master’s Guide)", and I can't read that at work. So rule/roll however you think is necessary and let me know how it plays out. ...also, I'm totally going to have to walk into the furnace, aren't I?

Between warforged resolve and a second wind I think I can tank it. I'm not sure I'd be much use afterwards, but if the rod is summoning fire imps I'll need to take the hit. Assuming I can open the door.

Would you allow me to have a close blast including my own square? I'm thinking of using Shout of Triumph to get the halfling off me.

I'll try to stick with a single roll for X-Strike, unless you want to try something really nuts. I don't want to start going "Okay that's Athletics for the swing, and Insight to predict the target's response, and Bluff to mask your intentions, and THEATER OF THE MIND~" Don't forget, the Sprites have melted the door shut. You'll have to bust through or rip it off to access the furnace. I actually sent a PM to mister Nine that if he could get the door open, I'll get the rod with my temp HP buff. I've got two other sources of little bits of temp hp anyway, I can take a hit.

Yeah, I'll focus my next go on getting the door open. I'm thinking a +9 Athletics and an AP gives me about an 85% chance of cracking it that way. Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but you can move a grab by beating the other person's Fort with a Strength roll, right?
|
# ? Sep 25, 2014 08:14 |
|
Escaping from a grab is a move action, using your Athletics against the grabber's Fortitude, or your Acrobatics against their Reflex. Success also allows you to shift 1 square. Unit 9 has 2 imps grabbing him. You only need one success to escape both, but they get +2 to their Fort and Reflex for it. Or you could kill one of the imps, eliminating the +2. Since you have 9 Athletics and they only have 10 Fort, success would be guaranteed. F.R.E.D. can damage the door to help get it open.

So, just out of curiosity, do we know where the escort ships are in relation to the Coaltongue? Like, would we hit one if we were to hypothetically try shooting the big heat ray out of the front of the ship?

Ok, so, assuming that the furnace is opened, I need two movement actions to get IN the furnace. And I, like, dive back out of the furnace, or kick the rod out, or anything like that? If I have to spend two turns in the furnace and nearly die, ok, but I just kinda want to know how I can get that rod out.

If you just want to scoop up the rod and fling it, not worrying about where it goes as long as it's out, that'd be a minor.

Ilton only had his melee basic attack, but Hawthorn did shank him before he could use his poison. Your roll for Unfinished Business, including the +2 power bonus: 1d20+8; 1d6+3d6+2
