My bank charges me no fees because I have my mortgage automatically come out of my checking account every month. I also get a free savings account, free checks, and refunds on ATM fees when I use out of network ATMs (maybe like once a year, who the gently caress needs cash anymore). Also they gave me two credit cards with ludicrous limits and 1% cash back. I pay those cards off every month and get all these perks because I am not a 40 year old child living in mom's basement (I broke that bad habit last year). Edit: Credit Unions are cool too, I do all my personal loans through them because they offer way better rates than a bank and I only have to keep a savings account with $1 in it to get loans from them!

my federal credit union pays me interest on the contents of my checking account which has no minimum balance and came with all of the bells and whistles and a stack of checks for free

While mine charges a 10 buck fee, it also rewards be a 10 buck allowance to counter that because it's a direct deposit works perks account, along with earning interest, free checks, and the virtual wallet stuff before it was the in thing, so eat it OP
