I recommend the driving, just make sure your GPS knows that you have to go to tail of the dragon on the way there... and on the way home, too. My condolences I've only got one grandparent left, fortunately she's doing just fine and I wouldn't be surprised if she sees 110.

Went to a BBQ one of my neighbors growing up had tonight... one of the other neighbors desperately wants to set me up with her remaining unmarried daughter and on the way out the door I get cornered by the host's daughter and asked for my number. Neither of them would even give me the time of day 15 years ago. Not that I cared at the time, I didn't give a rats rear end about girls until early college anyways, but it's kinda funny how things work out like this. I am entirely unused to this happening.

I am just incredibly hard on boots I guess. Has ATi fixed their abysmal driver issues? I swore them off in 2007 when their driver package (the latest and greatest off their site and hydrovision) managed to crater my GUI, network stack, and a few other things besides that.

A few friends and I considered renting a hangar for exactly that. Actually... I should find out if they're still interested. I'm sure rates at the airport 1 mile from me that got hit by a tornado are somewhat more negotiable now especially if we add repairing the building to the rental terms.

Motronic posted:Pfffft....young'un. Try finding a working ISA bus and card to pull poo poo off of random MFM drives you left in a box. Jeep motors are too damned heavy for their power output. I wasn't joking when I said that subaru motor was a future airplane build... if I ever actually get around to starting an airplane build it will be two of those, with turbos, or two EG33s with turbos, or two EZ30Ds. I don't trust one subaru motor with my life but two? I'll take those odds. Also... sorry to disappoint but that is extreme long term plans. As in I collect parts and nerd about it for now till I have time and money for the airframe and avionics, aka never. E: ISA bus back in around '05 I had to debug a system that was crashing during POST with only what I had on me, right loving now. So I built a port 0x80 POST code board with three 27C512s, a couple SSI 74LS chips for control bus decode, a 74LS573 or 574 (can't remember), and a pair of 7 segment displays it worked and I got to sleep that night. You can still get PCI to ISA bus bridge chips if you needed such a thing... and these days you would need to stack a PCIe to PCI bridge chip in front of that. Computers are more fun when you get to use a soldering iron on them. kastein fucked around with this message at 02:55 on Sep 9, 2014 |

I drive jeeps, I am pretty sure a classic would be a lateral transition at worst. Carpet, NVH reduction, exhaust muffling, quiet tires, functioning heat or air conditioning, and functioning lighting (interior or exterior) are all luxuries to be cherished while they last. Hmmm, sounds very land rover like... Hell, I am counting down the days till I can register the 5 ton and drive it to work - january 2nd. It didn't even have heat when it left the factory As for dating, Sunday should be fun, going to an electronics/computer parts/ham radio flea market with my ex from five years ago - her idea, not mine. We split because she had just gotten out of a seriously poo poo relationship and she moved too fast, realized she wasn't ready for anything serious.
