I know this is from a few pages back, but elk birds are sort of a thing. The Peryton is a gribbly and nasty creature from myth. I know of them from Dungeons and Dragons, where they hunt men for their hearts in hopes of one day finding the perfect one, to stop being a retarded elk bird, I presume. Roughly 250 lbs.
