I haven't done fantasy hockey in like 10 years. Last time I played sportingnews had a league where you were given a wad of cash to buy players, whose values went up or down during the season depending on how well they did. You could buy and sell players throughout the season, so while they were collecting fantasy points, you also had to worry about buying low/selling high. Does such a thing still exist or what? Sportingnews doesn't seem to have fantasy hockey at all anymore.

Yeah I'll put it earlier. The season starts Oct 2nd or 3rd or something, around then. We can draft sometime between Sept 20th onwards or whatever the later the better to get more inside scoops

I'm back for more good times in LSL.

WHO WILL BE THIS YEAR'S TOMAS HERTL? Seriously, I remember watching to see who the last player taken was, had no idea who Tomas Hertl was, and then he promptly pots four against the Rangers.

Re-upped for LSL this year.

Anyone know if there's a way in Yahoo to limit which players can be drafted or added to teams with the commissioner tools? I had an idea for a floaty Euro league, where we could only play with European players, but it seems like there's no way in Yahoo to limit the draft pool.

I think we're adding another one probably? Also maybe going to 16 teams? I dunno I kind of like the idea of the top 2 teams getting a bye but if enough people want a 8 team playoff I would be ok with bumping to 16.

I'd defer to T-Bone, but a league with a regular draft and head-to-head scoring is easy enough to pick up. I don't understand the Auction/Keeper stuff, though.

Hey if people are interested I'll totally do the money league again, it was very fun.

I'll do up a post over the weekend. Basically you pick a player from each team and its an easy peasy points league with no trades or dressing of lineups.

I want in on an active Fantasy Hockey league if there's any spots. I joined one inactive goon one last year and one public one that was run by an rear end in a top hat rigging the league.

So HHL people, what do you guys think about the keeper rules we have set up?

Here's what I'm thinking right now: remove the preseason keeper because it's confusing and just go to 3 (or maybe 4) players kept from your final roster last season at their cost + 20%.

Keep the the 3 year rule (you can only keeper a player for 3 years, so there will definitely be some keepers going back into the draft this year).

Keeper changes for HHL

Keeper Changes - You may now keep (4) players from last year's FINAL roster. I have eliminated the preseason keeper. If you have kept a player for (3) straight years you cannot keep him again. The keeper cost continues to be their cost from last year + 20%

I have (3) spots open in the HHL which is an auction/keeper league and definitely not for new fantasy players but if you're a nerd champion and looking for a challenge in a very active league jump on board. If we get enough interest I am also considering expanding the league from 14 to 16 teams (we'd probably do an expansion draft to allocate keepers for these new teams).

I have (3) spots open in the LSL which is less serious business than the HHL but still a challenge as there are a bunch of very active longtime managers with a brutal roster/stat format.
