Nidoking posted:The same answer as any other anime series that's done before the manga finishes - they ran out of filler ideas and had to stretch a couple of chapters, which take about five minutes to read, into seven episodes, but felt that saying "You have only THREE HOURS before the planet explodes" didn't really have the same impact. The abridged series fixed that by having Freeza pull the "5 minutes" thing out of his rear end, or something like that.
