Postmodernity means the exhilarating freedom to pursue anything, yet mind-boggling uncertainty as to what is worth pursuing and in the name of what one should pursue it.

Nooooo. No, no, noooOoOo. :smithicide: Eli's been my favorite since the beginning and seeing him break down deeper and deeper every season has been loving awful - Shea Whigham is amazing. Suicide would be more merciful than some accident or crime by-product capping, since it would give him some form of agency. Ugh.

All the Bugsy scenes were amazing for me, in the same way Lansky's post-poker alleyway rear end kicking was last season. Yiddish has been a language associated with comedy for a couple generations, so seeing the way the writers have been treating Jewish gangsters on BWE has been refreshing with the attention to detail paid. (RIP AR)

The flashy local folk hero status he enjoyed, the womanizing and later reference to his long-suffering wife Esther (and getting home in time for Lag BaOmer), the straightening and kissing of the mezuzah before schtupping Talia and her husband wanting Bugsy's autograph, Talia's husband's family sharing a minyan with Bugsy's and that prompting a moment of joke telling, just A++ attention to the sort of community ties and social life woven around Jewish gangsters of the era. :allears:

I wish that they would do a spin-off for the later Vegas adventures using these actors.

Any 'closure'/'gap years coverage' providing movie for Boardwalk Empire should follow the pacing of the series arc over all seasons: A rich well-written period drama that shows different facets of the era's social issues as part of the fabric of Nucky's criminal doings, instant grat/short attention span peasants will pan this portion of the film calling it boring, it will carry on for like an hour and a half before descending into a frenzied final 20mins that are rapid fire flashbacks and 2d4 Beloved Characters getting shot every 5-minutes leading up to the abrupt arrival of the credits.

Afterthought post-credits scene of AR being shot.

Minimal context provided.
