Doesn't Ray Rice suck now anyway? What would have been the harm in cutting his rear end?

There are people who will buy the line about "She hit him first," roll their eyes, and write it off as a "truth in the middle" situation with a twist that he's a total rear end in a top hat. Showing that she was not only defending herself from the first punch but was knocked out by a second leaves no ambiguity, however small, of how hosed up this is. Plus, the public directly witnessing it helps drive home the point through people's thick skulls that, hey, this guy is a rage filled psychopath and not just someone who "made a mistake and is very sorry."

You'd be surprised. That's twice now Goodell has been hit in the face with his own stupidity (replacement refs, the original Rice incident) and, after a couple of weeks of intense negative press, had to walk back or surrender on his position. I seriously think this is going to cost Goodell his job. Maybe not right away, but the furor will get to a point where the owners feel seriously threatened that sales are going to go south and will send him to the guillotine to save face.

That's a travesty considering the majority of what Goodell's done during his tenure has been downright bad. He just happened to luck into a job that makes money hand-over-fist despite him. Ray Rice deserves to be fired, or at least have a suspension MUCH longer than two games. Smoking weed gets you a year, yet knocking your fiancee out cold in an elevator gets you two? What a loving joke.

I don't think people understand Skip Bayless is well-aware of the role he plays on TV and is actually a very intelligent man when outside of that role. Think of his ESPN persona akin to a WWE heel wrestler. If you watch his shows with that in mind he's great at being a heel. He should be a WWE manager when he's finished trolling sports fans.

He even mugs for the camera. When the do the split screen with Stephen A, watch Skip's face. He does all these comical expressions like a 20's silent film actor. It rules. As for Goodell, I think he should pay Brett Favre $50 to issue a statement saying, "Gosh, I really miss football. I've been tossing the old pigskin to some local high school WRs and it feels great!" Suddenly ESPN will totally ignore Rice and the heat will be off Goodell.

It just kind of sucks because they will never get a more clear cut case to really make an example of. Domestic violence is so difficult to prove in the legal system and some people will never agree with any suspension without a conviction. But here they had a loving clear as day video to cut loose on and they hosed it up.
