When the Benoit thing first happened WWE did a sort of tribute show to him like they did with Eddie Guerrero. THen when more details came out Vince McMahon came on the air and said "we're sorry about that, we will never mention that man's name on the air again" and that was that. We basically need Bisciotti and/or Harbaugh to do that with us and this situation.

Seriously though the League p much can't do poo poo, they can pressure the Ravens, this is probably going to have to be taken through the Law, which it seems as though it's already been handled with his admittance into a first time offenders program. The Ravens would just have to eat their losses and cut him. And then beg the League for financial considerations.

As I understand it ravens fans were simply following the teachings of Our Lord Jesus which indicate one is to be forgiven one's trespasses and also something about not sparing the rod, this whole thing is basically spanking for Jesus but more aggressive.

Too bad the Ravens play the Steelers next week. I was hoping the fans could really give it to the Ravens. Instead they'll look like hypocrites since their QB is a rapist. Edit: Ray Rice would have gotten a longer suspension if he threw that punch at an opposing player on the field... Spermy Smurf fucked around with this message at 16:59 on Sep 8, 2014 |

Jesus christ Goodell needs to come out with his hand over his mouth and say "Gee Golly I never saw *that* video" and ban him for the year. Have him undergo anger management, blah blah and have him apply for reinstatement in 2015.

Everybody on Earth knows that casinos have elevator cameras. I wouldn't be surprised if the NFL purposely never asked for the tape from inside the elevator knowing full well what it would show so they could maintain plausible deniability.

Harlock posted:They could. It would put all the pressure on the Union to try and defend its player and his conduct, and that would be a PR nightmare I feel I don't think so. I'm sure they don't like what he did either(the union) but letting the league suspend him a second time for the same incident sets a legal precedent the union would not want to set. Hopefully I'm wrong but I don't see the league even trying it for fear of the battle with the union.

I guess I wasn't as caught up with the legal stuff related to this case; would a lawyer-minded person mind explaining what the hell this whole "diversionary program" thing is that Rice got into to avoid a trial? Is it akin to what someone caught for drug possession would receive in order to work towards rehabilitation? Why would that kind of program exist for a violent crime?
