The Highwaymen album always sounded odd to me with their old-school pedigree combined with weird dated Eighties sequencer-drenched production. Still has some great moments though. Country music is alive and well today, it's just called 'Americana' and throttles back a bit on the pedal-steel. Modern 'country' is poo poo-pop for suburban drones who long for some sort of authenticity and are too dumb to realize they're getting duped.

Ok the last Texas group, ZZ top. Several years ago I waited tables in Houston and Billy Gibbons was a regular. He was kinda jerk and acted like he was this big celebrity.
