The act is HIPAA, the Health Insurance Privacy and Accountability Act. When I was going through training, I was dismayed to see it spelled wrong on the slide and asked, the person said no it's HIPPA, the Health Insurance Portability and Protection Act. I went online, and the vast majority of health care providers at the time were using the wrong spelling. This problem persists in many places to this day.

So the people responsible for keeping your health information private, can't even loving spell the name of the act, nor do they know what it means, let alone follow its rules.
