Palpatine's one of my favorite characters so I guess I had pretty high expectations. But apparently Ian McDiarmid read it and thought it was awesome, which is in itself kind of awesome.

the EU is a clusterfuck because literally nobody who formed or joined it planned on putting in any kind of work, effort, or contribution at all and planned on mooching off all the other members. Germany knew it would have to bail out poor countries but planned on weaseling out of that, poor countries realized they would have to take austerity, didn't care, etc, etc. the whole thing is a case of prisoner's dilemma writ large and it's hilarious to watch because it is 100% europe's own fault
