Now cataclym's story was iffy because all the raids sucked and the only real payoff was fighting Deathwing with the other bosses being poo poo garbage(with maybe resurrected nef and Ony being somewhat cool). And Pandaria had mediocre raid bosses that made no sense to why the existed or reasons, but Warlords is just a mess. The Panda people themselves I did not have a problem with though, they were really well designed compared to the TBC and Cataclysm races. in vanilla wow everyone had to face reality. oh youre a druid? you have a tank and damage form? yeah tough crap you are a healer. and you gotta innervate priests instead of yourself because they are objectively better than you. your job is to bring motw and innervate and be a second rate healer. wear cloth, bitch. know your role and shut up then in BC everything got all hippy and free form and everyone could do everything. priest tank? why not

Cataclysm ruined the aesthetics to really good vanilla zones. Like Stormwind and it's immediate areas were fine. But the Update made the castle have a big inconvenient crater, there's some sort of magic tornado somewhere in the fields, badlands has a big crater than you have to traverse around and it really serves nothing of importance other than a single small quest. Also that massive Barrens gash ruined the barrens and Thousand Peaks's was cool with the salt flats but now is a pain to navigate first time through on the ground. I mostly hung out in Ungoro, Silithus, and Feralas anyways since I always liked those zones. Those seem fine even after cataclysm, despite the whole destroyed night elf area which is kinda hidden away and is still looking like poo poo. Draenor is not really reworked content, but poo poo doesn't feel like it had a ton of effort put into it like TBC was. It feels like Diet Coke TBC despite being newer. There's still no good level layouts like TBC Hellfire and Shattrath or even Nagrand. It just feels like a really weak imitation. The best thing is that silithus is still entirely unchanged as an entire zone intended to inspire all the worst possible feelings a game could muster from you. Like, the worst vanilla zone in the game doesn't get a loving thing done to it since the patch where they gave it those terrible world pvp objectives.

but in BC being a druid was the best thing ever. not only could you play every class but you were the best healer in the game. i stayed resto. it was so insanely loving powerful. i switched to pvp and any pubby game i joined i had a massive chance of changing the outcome. i probably won 70% of games i played just because i was a pvp geared resto druid healing people. resto druid was so goddam insanely powerful in BC. possibly the most overpowered any class has ever been. it was impossible to kill us but we had a special role in warsong gulch. we could capture flags like nobodys business. we could stealth in, we could cap the flag and sprint, grab the boots. then travel form when that ran out. then when guys caught up with us (maybe only half the time) we could go bear and stun them, or just heal ourselves infinitely because our heals were so powerful, a combination of those. i regularly 3-capped games in just a few minutes. drat it was good.
