For who knows what is good for a person in life, during the few and meaningless days they pass through like a shadow? Who can tell them what will happen under the sun after they are gone?
FWIW - Greg Bedard just reported on 98.5 (the Pats radio station) that one of the reasons Mankins wouldn't restructure his contract to stay w/ the Pats is because he didn't want to play for Dave DeGuglielmo, the OL coach replacing Scar.

Also, apparently the last three offensive lines DeGuglielmo coached were in the bottom 5 of the league each year.

If you haven't been watching Pats games, Brady has been getting absolutely killed all season, and every member of the Pats o-line is in the bottom 10 of the league per PFF.

Heh. Dave DeGuglielmo on then Jets RT Wayne Hunter...
He might be a downgrade from Scarnecchia.

Just a little bit, do you think?

The only hope we have is either A) Scar comes out of retirement or B) Bill takes over the OL himself.

I get the new guys struggling, but how can long established veterans just all suddenly start making GBS threads themselves every play. What the hell is going on there.

Bedard spent about an hour on Felger and Mazz talking about the all-22 review he did of the Pats OL. Takeaway:

The left guard completely missed him!

PFF has the Patriots graded as the worst OL worst pass-protection unit (and near-worst run) in the NFL as of today. They're awful.

I think my favorite part of that episode is the GoodellBot part.
