This is what fixed the StarCraft 'Rainbow vomit' problem for me (on Win 7 64-bit). So I'd give this a shot, don't have to remember to open some settings windows every time I run the game.

Enjoying this LP Poptarts. I've never played MechWarrior 2, the MechWarrior 3 demo was my introduction to the franchise. On the plus side, this thread and a recent computer upgrade lead to me discover I still have MechCommander Gold and MechCommander 2 from when Microsoft was giving them away free.
