The helmets in tonights OSU vs TTU game are very... unique. On both sides.

TTU has hand-painted red striping on theirs. OSU's are chrome orange.

Still feels like the same TTU team this year. Inconsistent QB, inconsistent receivers. Defense is playing better. Or at least getting help from OSU OC.

That should've been Webb's third or even fourth interception of the half though.

8 or 9? 2 on special teams, 1 on defense, a shitton on offense.

Betting he's back next week, angrier.

Really, as bad as our secondary has been burnt, this game has been a huge improvement for our defense over Arkansas and even over the last time we played OSU. I'd rather get beat on deep bombs than 10 minute drives.

To be fair, even as someone who's not high on your passing game, that'd probably do the job nearly as well against Tech.

Apparently you either have to gameplan to go all-out passing, or all-out rushing. If you try to go balanced, then you're probably still going to beat us, just without as many points.

Woof.

This team is hard to watch. The defense was much better, even with the terrible deep ball defense. Webb looked good in spurts. But when you add in the terrible penalties (called back a return TD, a 37 yard punt return, and the countless offensive penalties), drops, and dumb turnovers, you get a game that's 21-14 at the half and a game that gets away from us toward the end.

Still, the guys competed better than I expected, but I also don't think we're going bowling this season.

Changing the onside kick rules probably made things a lot safer but goddamn the play doesn't seem as fun anymore.

So a friend had a pretty brilliant idea to make things more interesting. Instead of kicking off from the 35, give the team that is "kicking" the ball at the 40 yard line with 4th an 10 as the down and distance. If they want, they can go for the 10 yards and keep the ball, or they can punt it.

I like the idea.

Weirdness with defensive penalties converting to first down, though.

Not really. If it is an issue, you could modify it to move the ball the penalty yardage closer, but leave it as 4th and 10. Offensive penalties move it backwards, but don't reset distance.
