Megaspel posted:So you can choose between getting a BA and an MA or having a baby basically. In America debt is actually encouraged and people are proud of their credit ratings and how much money they're allowed to borrow at a time, so the answer with most people I know who are 20-30 is not one, but both

The system is rigged to pull money from insurance companies from peoples jobs. If you don't have insurance its pretty much assumed that you will never pay it, and it cannot effect your credit. This is how it was explained to me. Is it right? of course not, but neither are a lot of things =/

that is correct except for the not affecting credit part. even with insurance people go bankrupt from medical bills

that's not real cost they over inflate all prices to force haggling to see how much they can get. Are europeans that stupid, also are goons so retarded they won't go and even try to haggle down a retarded high bill.

Do you actually haggle with the doctor? Like do you go buy a big fake mustache and walk up to him and say "Want make Deal?"

no you call up the billing dept and just keep telling them you have no insurance and it's too high, you can't pay also you do the same with comcast they should probably teach how to do it in high school

Lots of my family here in california just shows up with 5k in cash and says this is all we got. it's worked pretty good.

i got lots of family with a million kids the trick is you homeschool them, the state at least in california will pay parents money for school supplies, so you end up with a parent that gets paid to baby sit all the kids all day long.

Because unless the hospitals / drug companies are able to financially rape you THEY WON'T INNOVATE. NO NEW MEDICINES WILL BE CREATED. EVER. Despite the fact that most R&D money these days is spent on treating illnesses that effect less that 50k people WORLDWIDE.

Even with medicare you can end up screwed if you don't have supplemental insurance. My uncle had none because he thought that doctors were crooks, but he wound up in the hospital anyways after having a stroke and someone calling an ambulance. All of the money he saved up over a lifetime was basically wiped out since he was in the hospital for about a month and even with medicare the bill he was responsible for was still tens of thousands of dollars.
