While gold cuccoos do drop nothing, killing a gold one does get the cuccoo army to fight for you instead.

E: Also, I read online before that you need 1200-1500 kills on a map for a KO 'A' rating. Is it really that high? Sometimes it looks like I'm going to get nowhere near, but I grind for a bit and can eek it out. Sometimes having to kill dudes around the final boss.
