Yes! I'm doing inktober again this year too :) For those who don't know Inktober is a art meme created by comic artist Jake Parker. Basically it just means making one ink drawing per day in October and uploading it to twitter\tumblr\instagram\placethatuseshashtags.

I also decided to do this 20 day environment challenge and this 30 day art challenge at the same time in order to make it more challenging for myself.

EDIT: wow I should probably pencil things out before I break out the brush. Oh well it's more fun doing it freestyle ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Well you've developed some really great textures here but you need to really need to establish a main light source if you're trying to sell the illusion of three dimensions. The biggest concern is actually composition right now. try shifting the dog's head to the right (so that it's head corresponds with one of the points in the rule of thirds) and try cooling down the background since it's fighting for dominance with the foreground right now.

Which brush is that for the texture you have on the skin?
Kyle Webster's Super Light Sketch Graphite. Really fun for texturing.

I've been terrible and haven't followed these threads for a long time. This month's theme sounds like a good excuse to practice some digital painting (I'm really envious of all you painters). Stuff I've done over the last few weeks:

(Yes, that's a self portrait)
Experimenting with some super-loose inkish sketching in Photoshop. The results obviously need work, but considering it took fifteen minutes to draw (probably a lot less, wasn't actually watching the clock), I'm actually kinda happy with the results. :D

EDIT: Self-Crits:

- Right arm is bigger than left on leftmost figure.
- Not enough differentiation, shadow wise, to separate left and right figure.
- Need to spice up background, perhaps airbrush some blacks in?

dasboo.tumblr.com is the only site I keep up with anymore, but it's less artwork and more quick comics and doodles. There's a Moogle parade going on in there right now. :v:

My advice would be to spend some time drawing just the face/hands/feet - they're clearly your weakest area, and it looks like you spend much less time on them than the other parts of the body (judging from much lower level of detail/shading). They're just shapes like all the others!

Hehe, dong! (though it's a little on the low side :eng101:)

Oh absolutely. Feet are my absolute worst area and something I need to really work on. It was heads/faces but I've been focusing on them quite a bit recently, making some (slow) progress. As for hands... I think I've actually gotten worse at them recently. Strange.
