Like back in Season 1's floating fortress, if Toohru was a "real" saboteur", was he supposed to stab Akari instead of sparing her?

Probably. They said it's common for saboteurs to have to kill each other in their line of work.

Is adult Frederica voiced by the same person as the "normal" Frederica? I imagine so, but does anyone have certain information on this?

Yes, both versions have the same VA, Chiwa Saito. She also speaks Senjougahara from the Monogatari series, Taokaka in the BlazBlue games and Caroline Yajima in Gundam Build Fighters.

-edit-
Also Homuhomu.

You can see his hand go flying still gripping the sword. It's gone.

I'm kind of annoyed that they keep having contrived ways of making Frederika useless. She basically doesn't ever get to be involved with any real conflict resolution. Also that the Gilette subplot is wrapped up as simply as it was.

Vivi ain't take poo poo from no-one!
Not even her Taichou :saddowns:

I have to give some criticism though, I'm not a huge fan of the 'mysterious enigma loli trope' "Keikaku doori", but I can let that pass for literally everything else this show has to offer.

I just caught back up with the last three episodes, and I think the thing that still impresses me most about this series is that the named characters and, even more impressive, the politicians and generals in the council, actually act pretty intelligently. The party will run from bad fights when possible rather than trying to shounen power through them. When they encounter the Gilette team they don't immediately break out into a fight but will exchange information (with some guarding), and the Gilette team does likewise. Kliemann isn't some faceless bureaucrat or chief who doesn't give a drat about his team, but gives as much support as possible. As shown in the gif above, Vivi doesn't hesitate to save her friend even given the person attacking him, rather than moping and being conflicted. They're characters who act the way rational people (more or less) would act and have clear and consistent values and motivations. It shouldn't be so remarkable for such a thing to exist in anime, but it is, and it's what makes this show noteworthy.

Also Vivi has been particularly rad, despite her terrible fashion sense. The change in her personality doesn't feel forced, but natural for a person who is probably living on effectively borrowed time and knows it.

It's for the same reasons that Gandalf was often sent away from the party for 'plot reasons' in LotR and The Hobbit; he's too powerful and solves too many problems. There just isn't a sense of tension or danger for the main cast if they just call upon a dragon at the start of every fight.

Conversely, you can just assume that any enemy who has their poo poo together and knows the murder-happy shapeshifting dragon is coming will have a plan to deal with her. The current arc is about everyone being in way over their heads because Black Chaika is very well prepared and has spent years collecting Chaikas and killing their allies. Hartgen even found an infiltration specialist to deal with all of the infiltrators, which you really have to admire.

Also, the original explanation of Chaikas being a bunch of brainwashed orphans doesn't quite fit. Vivi physically transformed into a Chaika, which makes no sense with the brainwashing thing. That monocle guy didn't have the full story either. There is something more going on here, and it starts with the black Chaikas. Where did the twins come from? Black originally came alone, and has been content to murder every other Chaika she came by. So she decided to ally with those two alone? What's more, has Black even gotten up from that weird throne outside of that flashback?

Yep, many open questions. Also Frederica is kind of a dumb brute, which is a major weak point of her.

The way I saw it, the Chaikas are basically Manchurian agents, modified and brainwashed at an early age and set to trigger much later in their lives. Vivi was one of the orphans taken in for the Chaika project, but when her trigger got pulled, her buddies in the Gilette squad intervened before the transformation could complete.

I'm still holding out hope that she partners up with Akari instead of Tooru. Freddie and Akari are an excellent pair, and she hasn't had her question answered yet either. Also hoping she stays in her adult form for at least a little while longer. It was a refreshing change from the party being mostly little girls.

Almost certainly not because our Chaika would have 0% chance of actually claiming all the pieces. Gaz's actual execution of the plan was flawless. The only little kinks being the worker Chaika's individualism, but thats also their biggest strength

I'm guessing from the final episode title and the general thematic thrust of the story, it'll be a "My memories/feelings are better than yours" Chaika super-spell. I'm predicting a bittersweet ending with Toru abandoning his life as a saboteur to take care of an amnesiac Chaika.

Given the brief yet firm emphasis Toru put on Chaika never using her memories as fuel, I'd believe it.

I thought that was just Black Chaika's ego talking. Gaz's reaction just seemed to be "oh, huh, so you were the variant who finished the job? Cool." With that in mind, I'd assume all the other Chaikas had programming and... uhh... alterations that would let them accomplish the rebirth in some way or another even if they didn't use Black's precise methodology. Maybe Red Chaika, for instance, would have justified it as ritual cannibalism to obtain her father's strength and fuel her quest for revenge?
