I don't need Comrades for my sarge, GM. I was going to use the comrade talents--like you said in the OP--as representing her badass. Specifically, at least in part, as addtional mechanics for her many augmentations, beyond just her actual cybernetics.

For example, assigning my comrades to assist others via that Commander order would represent analyzing and transmitting sensor/scanner data to the squad (or focusing my systems on my own performance, since I can also assign them to myself with that). Or as another possibility, the one that makes cover could be me using my robot strength to quickly shift cover into position (I'm fine with only using it where I can justify it, of course!).

The various 'comrades provide supporting fire' ones could involve using my inbuilt laspistols, or just being super on with my shooting. Weapon swapping super fast (as Armsman grants me) is a factor of being badass and of having greater than normal flexibility thanks to my augs.

Brainstorming this is probably not necessary, but I like thinking about this poo poo, and I wanted to make it clear I'd thought about my fluff, not just my mechanics!

Also, that ogryn is awesome.

Yeah. I'm looking at three suppressive fire attacks per turn here.

Today I'm... amped up!

Since Beast of Burden allows me to pile my Hulking modifier (5) on top of my Strength (10) and Toughness (9) bonuses together, my carrying weight is a lot higher than the game is actually capable of listing (since it goes up to 20, and I'm at 24).

That means my carrying capacity is probably somewhere north of 3/4 metric tons, and then some.

Let's just say that if we had an Operator, we wouldn't need to worry about the tank ever getting stuck in a ditch somewhere.

After talking to Mandozer on IRC, I'll be running a second character. I'll write her up a bio shortly and maybe look for a portrait

Functionally, she's a medic/loremonkey who carries a bigass gun and can also drive poo poo. Sort of a jack of all trades support character.

Samantha Melchor has knowledge in her head she was never meant to carry. As a young woman, she joined the Adeptus Soriritas and found her way into the Hospitalers. Sam proved her worth and faith caring for the injured and providing support for her fellow Sisters, and so was chosen to be provided with further information, so she could better serve.

Her homeworld had access to certain devices and practices capable of rapidly committing knowledge to a mind, and thus was she to be taught. But something went wrong during the transfer. A misplaced finger or misspoken rite extended the process. Rather than simply the medical and biological capacity she was slated to receive, Sister Melchor was granted almost the entire archive.

She has always possessed a biting wit, but with the mass of information now in her mind, Sam finds herself snarkier than ever. Still, she was too useful to the Sororitas to be executed after the accident, and so she was still given her assignment: a support position amongst the Dolat Guard.

Sam puts her skills, and the learning she never asked for, to good use in service of the Emperor and her fellow soldiers. She cares for her allies even if her demeanor suggests otherwise, and she has saved the lives of a great many members of the regiment at one time or another, be it from medical care or a timely burst from the massive gatling laser she carries.

[Bio may be revised soon]

Dragon God
Bron

Bron is big, Bron is dumb, but Bron is loyal and loves a good fight. Bron has been through a lot of stuff since landing on this strange open world, with a blue and white ceiling that is way too far away, and green carpeting that smells kind of nice. He has torn through enemies, buildings, enemies, tanks, enemies, a toilet, enemies, and probably some hills. He has faced large fleshy metalic things that actually compare in size to himself, but they have guns and stuff coming out of their hands and shoulders and stuff. Bron has overcome, and survived, even when he laying bleeding. Even when the hated mono-bayonet split him open. He survived, he persevered, and he learned a new trick. Okay maybe it isn't so much learning a new trick as learning how to better focus his great strength, and stop bothering with his Ripper that he almost never fired.

And now he is back, it is time to face the front, the overwhelming odds, and the danger his squadmates, his friends, have been put in. It is time for Bron to bust some heads once more.

Gonna houserule fatigue so that running 200m in combat gear doesn't give you a -10 penalty for an entire combat scene. Lets discuss it ITT so we agree on something that works for all of us!

Today I'm... amped up!

I apologize for the tardiness, and I realize that I've been kicked. That's totally my fault, and I'm cool with it - I'm not complaining about that, as it's your game and your rules.

Next time, I would appreciate a PM or something asking me to post instead of just a straight-up kick. Or perhaps a post in the main game threat stating that you'd really love to move things along if it weren't for these drat goons. I've had a crazy past couple of weeks with work, middle-ear infections, and perforated eardrums so I haven't be as active as I would have liked to have been on the forums. I know it's not your job to babysit me, but just some warning would be nice.

Dr. Roger "Rooster" Cobb

"Go to medical school they said," he grumbled, ignoring the cries of pain from his latest patient as he reset a broken arm and began wrapping it up, "Oh shut up, you think you have it bad. I've got more school debts than you'll earn in your entire lifetime."

A quick injection, onto the next. He tuned one of his earpieces to start scanning until it found one of the alien broadcast channels Hello and welcome to Radio Free Alegar, bringing you the latest news of the Greater Good's inevitable victory and as always extending a free offer of peace to those who would surrender peacefully. But first, the latest music requests at the top of the cycle.

He stayed crouched as he dodged from one crater to the other, bobbing his head with the beat, tuning his other earpiece to the military channels. He heard yelling from further down the line and started going that way, crawling when necessary, swaggering with the rhythm when possible. They were heretics, aliens and traitors but damned if their enemies didn't have much better music.

How much attention he paid to the patient once he got there, none could say. Sure, his hands were steady, practiced as he sowed up the wounds and stabilized the dying soldier. However his interest seemed primarily focused on his right ear, and he grimaced, yelling for everyone to get back on the line, "Incoming!"

What second sight guided him? Another secret he didn't talk about, but as he reached around for his custom weapon and joined the others on the line, there didn't seem much point in asking. A new wave of enemies incoming, a probing force or infiltrators perhaps.

As the weapon hummed to life in his hands, the superheated gas reaching truly destructive temperatures inside the shielded carapace, he smiled and yelled out, "Remember kids, be responsible citizens and donate plasma!"

I'll be using Sam as my backup. If Alaina manages to run out of FP and die again, I'll roll over to Sam.

Since other people referenced her in their posts, I'm assuming she exists offscreen with our regiment, but isn't a PC at this time. Sound good?

C she's the chief medicae due to being one of the few sisters hospitalers still alive on planet. I haven't done the background on the fate of that contingent and other supporting arms but suffice to say alot of poo poo got wrecked over the last year and the organizations hit the worst were the Ecclesiarchy and Munitorum personnel wise. Well at least compared to the Guard (heh).

Well, OW Plasma Guns have twice the ammo in the clip. You get to fire on Maximal more often.

So we wanted variant pattern plasma guns? Lets do Variant pattern Plasma guns! For these guns I'm just going with Two positive and two negative traits, which I am mostly rolling as well. All stat modifications are included in the weapon stat lines.

Ivonian Pattern Plasma Gun:

The Ivonian Pattern plasma gun is a weapon of questionable use, and even less questionable origins. Some believe the pattern was not based off of STC fragments, but was instead a work of pure, and heretical, originality. Whatever the case, the Ivonian Pattern Plasma Gun, also known as the "Crazy Ivan" was a pattern whose original purpose seemed to be a weapon that could be used by an Astartes wearing Tactical Dreadnought Armor. It is of sturdy construction, with no trigger guard to get in the way of the Terminator armor gloves, and reinforced plasma flasks to withstand the Terminator armor's crushing grip.

However, since the internals of the weapon were made more bulky, they also lacked proper heat containment mechanisms. As such, the plasma fired from this gun dissipates heat incredibly quickly, costing the weapon a majority of it's armor melting qualities outside of a relatively short range.

Needless to say the Astartes did not want the weapon, but the "Crazy Ivan" did find its way into some Guard Regiments, where they found the sturdy construction makes it a weapon they can give to a Ogryn; though when they do they usually disable the "Maximal" setting.

Plasma Gun Range:100m RoF:S/2/– Dam:1d10+7E Pen:6 Clp:35 Rld:5Full Wt:20 Spcl:Maximal, Overheat, Ogryn Proof

Positives:
Brutal Construction: Weapon gains the ogrun-proof quality, and can be used as an improvised melee weapon with the stats: 1d10I Ogryn-Proof, Primitive (8)
Long Barrel: increase range by 10 meters.

Negatives:
Diffuse Spread: Apply a -4 modifier to Penetration when fired at targets outside of Short Range.
Bulky: Increase weight by 2 KG

Hesphur Pattern Plasma Gun
One of the many variants of the plasma gun, the Hesphur variant uses a special magnetic accelerator which has the "design Flaw" of leaking radiation into the plasma containment field. This leads to the weapon's shots being even more punishing, as if the heat of a sun wasn't punishing enough.

The down sides are that the radiation leak of the acceperator leads to the weapon draining additional Plasma, and being even more prone to explosion; though for some regiments the extra damage potential and slightly increased range are worth the risk.

Plasma Gun range:100m RoF:S/2/– Dam:1d10+7E Pen:6 Clp:40 Rld:5Full Spcl:Maximal, Overheat, Cripling (2), Unreliable WT:18kg

Positives:
Crippling Munitions: This weapon gains the Crippling (2) Quality. If it has the Crippling (X) Quality
already, increase the value of X by 1.
Long Barrel: Increase range by 10.

Negatives:
Small Clip:Decrease the Clip Size of the weapon by 5 (to a minimum of 1).
Erratic: This weapon gains the Unreliable Quality. If it has the Reliable Quality, it loses it.

Vicissitude posted:

Just for you Vic, I even threw out the variant pattern rules and just made something myself:

The Nerfus Centurion Pattern Anti-Material Bolter

The Nerfus Centurion pattern Bolter was discovered in the remains of a space hulk, clutched by the dead and decaying (both biological and rust) of a long long lost Exploritor, though no evidence of her Exploritor Fleet was found among the Hulk. It took over 500 years of testing for the Magos of Mars to determine that the pattern was not tainted, and another 200 for the weapon to be reverse engineered and methods of reproduction to be created.

The weapon has a small clip size, even compared to the Astartes Stalker Boltgun, which it often draws comparison to, but that is where the comparisons end. The construction of this particular boltgun uses gas capture ports and a veritable maze of valves and double back gas operation blocks to capture as much gas from the propellant as possible to increase the bolt round's velocity, giving the weapon the penetration of an autocannon, and greater than any astartes standard bolter. The weapon is also able to fire custom made SP rounds with no need to replace the barrel or the receiver.

The down sides of the weapon is that they are extremely rare and hard to produce, with almost every single one made for the particular Guardsman, or astartes. The weapon is also large and bulky, making it hard to take around the field, and also requiring a Guardsman brace themselves first. The weapon is also manually bolt operated, greatly slowing down its fire rate.

Boltgun Range:150m RoF:S/-/– Dam:1d10+5X Pen:6 Clp:6 Rld:2Full Spcl: Tearing, accurate, reliable, recharge Wt:25kg Rarity:Near Unique

Notes:
-Weapon is able to fire both special Bolter Rounds or SP rounds usable in any sniper rifle or autogun that are over-powdered to fit the weapon. These over-powdered rounds are treated as two availability more rare than usual. If using non-bolter rounds, the weapon loses Tearing special quality.
-While not a heavy weapon, the weapon must be braced before firing.

Today I'm... amped up!

Werix,

A page back I detailed something about a Dolat-Pattern Power Fist.

There is one advantage that I would like it to have, and that's the one where it moves from Unwieldy (Can't Parry) to Unbalanced (-10 to Parry). Of course, the advantage where it gets Razor-Sharp would be super-awesome but that might also make it super-OP as well.

Care to weigh in on a potential variant pattern Power Fist? My Ogryn is Fight!

P.S. If we can we should requisition one of the 500kg Power Fields. My Ogryn can carry it on his back no problem.
