Goodfellas, I thought Sharon Stone was awful in Casino and it was one of De Niro's most unmotivated boring roles ever. Joe Pesci was great in both films however.

really though goodfellas has a scene in which joe pesci and robert deniro and ray liotta visit pesci's mother's house to pick up a knife to chop up frank vincent, who's in their trunk, and they find pesci's mom awake and she makes them dinner at like 2am and they sit down and have a pleasant dinner and she tells them stories and shows them a painting she did, all while vincent is in the trunk of the car parked right outside.

Casino is pretty bad. It was boringly bleak. Gangster movies are best when they're bleakly optimistic. Goodfellas is overrated though it has some great moments. The Departed is better than both of them, just to pick a movie that's better than them, there's lots. I love gangster movies by the way.

I think Mean Streets is hugely under rated. It doesn't focus on the higher ups, just a couple of street level guys. Keitel is loving amazing in it and it has Young DeNiro playing a borderline retard.
