Per the Big XII, replay refs are allowed to step in if a call is "egregious"

The replay ref did not feel this was egregious. Check the play clock.

It doesn't matter, they still have to play each other anyways

Almost every zero/one loss team has to play another zero/one loss team before the season is over.

Marshall doesn't play anybody with less than three losses.
East Carolina doesn't have to play any 1 loss teams
Colorado State doesn't have to play any 1 loss teams.
Notre Dame plays Arizona State
Duke would have to play Florida State in the ACC championship game if they don't take a second loss elsewhere.
Florida State could have to play a 1 loss Duke in the ACC championship game
Kansas State has to play TCU and Baylor
TCU has to play Kansas State
Baylor has to play Kansas State
Michigan State has to play Ohio State and possibly Nebraska
Ohio State has to play Michigan State and possibly Nebraska
Nebraska will have to play a 1 loss winner of the MSU/Ohio State game
Arizona State plays Utah, Arizona, and Notre Dame, plus a potential 1 loss Oregon in the Pac-12 title game.
Arizona plays Utah, Arizona State, plus a potential 1 loss Oregon in the Pac-12 title game.
Utah plays Arizona State, Oregon (possibly twice), and Arizona.
Oregon plays Utah plus a potential 1 loss Pac-12 South champ.
Georgia plays Auburn plus a potential zero or one loss SEC West champ.
Mississippi State plays Alabama , Ole Miss, and a possible SEC East champ matchup with Georgia
Ole Miss plays Auburn and Mississippi State, and a possible SEC East champ matchup with Georgia
Alabama plays Mississippi State, Auburn, and a possible SEC East champ matchup with Georgia
Auburn plays Ole Miss, Georgia, and Alabama.

The one loss herd will continue to thin starting this weekend.

ESPN is getting awfully cranky about people saying negative things about their relationship with the SEC. SVP just did an entire segment basically defending the network and their coverage of SEC football.

I wonder if it is starting to impact their ratings, I know I watch a lot less Gameday than I used to (though obviously part of that is changing priorities and more options) and basically don't watch ESPN at all other than for games. The only article I could find said there was a 10% drop in viewership from the 2012 season to the 2013 season. Couldn't find anything on this year.

Besides, "Wake up, College Football" is the best college football related thing this year. Even if it is just a video blog.

There's a Detroit Free Press article today that says he has a "lower extremity injury".

Would you also say part of that is Big XII is (mostly) on Fox?

For actual games, yeah. But there aren't any games running in opposition to GameDay. It used to be that I'd just watch Gameday until 11, no matter what channel the game I was going to watch was on. Now a lot of the time I don't even turn on the TV until 11. And if I do have gameday going it is in the background while I do poo poo around the house.

I propose that all football teams should be subject to Harrison Bergeron style handicapping if they have better recruiting rankings than their opponents. When Oklahoma takes the field against Iowa State on Saturday they need to all have their shoelaces tied together and required to wear straightjackets in the interest of making sure they only win by 20.

Muschamp is going to get hired as DC at Alabama once he gets fired from Florida and Bama is going to win every game 56-0 for the next decade.

RS FR WR Derrick Willies is transferring from Iowa. It's allegedly to be closer to his ailing father (which is weird since I think he's from Burlington or Rock Island, both of which are super close) but I would guess playing time played a role too. He looked like arguably the best receiver on the team during pre-season and then hasn't been able to get on the field in an actual game. Because lord knows we need to use the scrappy white walk ons as deep threats instead of that super fast 6'4" dude who clowned our corners all spring and summer.

Another step towards Northwestern's goal of winning the Big Ten.

That sounds pretty loving dry tbh

World's Strongest Man on constant repeat is way better than talking heads shouting at each other.

I'd pay good money for a channel that just alternated between World's Strongest Man and Ninja Warrior 24/7. Maybe toss in the occasional Highland Games or Lumberjack Games to spice things up.

So basically, I'll be sad and pitiable for the rest of my life.

Same here, but for ISU. I'd be smug as gently caress.

Like, in basketball I don't care as much, plus we've been good before and it's all just on a player or two anyway. So being good at basketball doesn't do that to me.

But if ISU ever had even a 9-3 season I'd be insufferable.
