Per the Big XII, replay refs are allowed to step in if a call is "egregious" The replay ref did not feel this was egregious. Check the play clock.

Dattserberg posted:ESPN is getting awfully cranky about people saying negative things about their relationship with the SEC. SVP just did an entire segment basically defending the network and their coverage of SEC football. I wonder if it is starting to impact their ratings, I know I watch a lot less Gameday than I used to (though obviously part of that is changing priorities and more options) and basically don't watch ESPN at all other than for games. The only article I could find said there was a 10% drop in viewership from the 2012 season to the 2013 season. Couldn't find anything on this year.

Besides, "Wake up, College Football" is the best college football related thing this year. Even if it is just a video blog.

BI NOW GAY LATER posted:Would you also say part of that is Big XII is (mostly) on Fox? For actual games, yeah. But there aren't any games running in opposition to GameDay. It used to be that I'd just watch Gameday until 11, no matter what channel the game I was going to watch was on. Now a lot of the time I don't even turn on the TV until 11. And if I do have gameday going it is in the background while I do poo poo around the house.

That Works posted:Grats on paying Sabans mortgage after giving him 7 mil. Seriously poo poo like this is a good argument for socialism. I propose that all football teams should be subject to Harrison Bergeron style handicapping if they have better recruiting rankings than their opponents. When Oklahoma takes the field against Iowa State on Saturday they need to all have their shoelaces tied together and required to wear straightjackets in the interest of making sure they only win by 20.

Muschamp is going to get hired as DC at Alabama once he gets fired from Florida and Bama is going to win every game 56-0 for the next decade.

MourningView posted:RS FR WR Derrick Willies is transferring from Iowa. It's allegedly to be closer to his ailing father (which is weird since I think he's from Burlington or Rock Island, both of which are super close) but I would guess playing time played a role too. He looked like arguably the best receiver on the team during pre-season and then hasn't been able to get on the field in an actual game. Because lord knows we need to use the scrappy white walk ons as deep threats instead of that super fast 6'4" dude who clowned our corners all spring and summer. Another step towards Northwestern's goal of winning the Big Ten.

But if ISU ever had even a 9-3 season I'd be insufferable.
