Plafop posted:Again, unironically, we should stop spending for any foreign aid, military or otherwise except for a select few trusted allies. You know how people say we can't go to war with China because we are so economically dependent on them? We give money to non-"few trusted allies" for basically the same reason. It's a hell of a lot cheaper to give some dumbfuck country a shitload of corn and antibiotics and let them slowly come to depend on us than it is to blow them up to make them do what we want. There are lots of types of leverage; the military isn't even the only one that lets us kill poor people to punish their leadership.

So does the US have any heavy lift vehicles in service at the moment that use a western rocket engine for the primary stage? Cause it seems that even the Atlas V is using imported russian rocket engines for its primary, even though a much more modern design.

loving CHRIST Obama give NASA 3% of the budget and let the military just die already. Idk why we loving even need to have a defense budget greater than the next 30 nations combined. Just make it 100 billion more than #2 and they'll never catch up. Then the rest in social and education. And a gently caress ton into NASA Like it won't build jobs or something.

Throwing money at anything will fix it too bad no one wants to. Cancer would be hosed if we dropped 2 billion into it. Spread too thin. Haven't any of these politicians played RTS games?! Gotta focus down one thing at a time. Jesus
