OATHBREAKER
Oh heck yes, I enjoyed this thread last time and I'm definately in this time too.

Preferences: The OP reminded me that I actually do need wargaming scenery. I play Warhammer Fantasy and 40k, and specifically have Orcs, Ogres, Dark Elves, Necrons, Chaos Marines and couple of Imperial armies if that gives some inspiration. I mean I'd love some army specific terrain, but generic terrain is needed too!

General Location: Finland

Solemn vow: I will keep up with the thread and will send a gift in time. Last year the gift I sent arrived shortly after new year, this time it will be on time!

Gift Preference: I like those weird story game things you hear about, but really I also like books in general. Occultism & Non-Standard history books are my favorite, non-standard as in not about WW2 or Middle-Age Europe or things you learned about in school. I'd prefer nothing digital if that wouldn't be to much of a problem. Also homemade things are pretty cool for me.

I solemnly swear that I won't flake out on this.

I would enjoy
I collect oddball dice. I hit the tournament scene for Magic the Gathering a lot (so prepackaged decks would be bad, but I would gladly welcome 30 bucks of non-basic land into my home). I've got a bunch of modern board games. I have an X-wing miniatures squad, though I don't play as much as I'd like. Outside of trad games, I've got too much poo poo on steam and yet it's still never enough. I got a job and I'm not broke these days, though, so for 30 whole dollars I'll be happy with a lot of things so long as they're interesting. I'm not opposed to digital.

I would not enjoy
RPG stuff; I'm not in the market for a new system, and I've got most of what I care about from the ones I know.
Miniatures stuff other than X-wing is not my bag.
I don't abhor anime, but I don't care for it either.
No food please. Alcohol would be wasted on me, as well.
I'd prefer to avoid gag gifts because I'm a dumb fuckin square.

This'll be my third year of TGS Santa-ing, I can't wait. :D

Gift Preference: More into the board game side of things. Here's an abbreviated wishlist. If there's a game not on here that you think I would adore, please check my BGG collection first. The only RPG system I'm into is Dungeon World, and it's likely to stay that way, so I would prefer not to receive RPG material. Same goes for miniatures, it is not my thing. Outside of board games I like fantasy and science fiction books. Though I usually do my reading on my Kindle, I'm not averse to physical copies. I like Star Trek and The X-Files. I (generally) like comics. No food, but beer is cool. Generally, I would prefer a physical gift.

Location: Atlanta, GA.

Solemn Vow: I am an honorable Santa and will honor my Santee with a wonderful gift. This I swear.

Gift Preferences
I like most nerdy things. Only thing I ask not to recieve specifically is D&D (random other RPGs welcome) and MTG. Recently became uninterested in MTG. Board games-wise I tend to like both Euro and American style games, bonus points if it can seat 5 players.
I do like strange systems like Unknown Armies (don't own yet) and am fine with digital products to a degree, probably not so much for the RPG books)

Locational Information
I'm in the glorious Ontario of Canada

Solemn Vow
I will keep up with this thread and I will send a gift on time or may my lord and saviour Dan Harmon drown me under his girth. I shall also inform you of any gifts I may receive.

Dear Goony Gaming Santa-
I have been doing my best not to be an rear end in a top hat this year, which is why I no longer read the Shadowrun thread. So since I've been trying to be good, here are some things I might want for the holidays.

Art! I'm an adult now, and having framed prints or original art is super awesome.
I'm sure you know I'm really into anime and Japanese gaming stuff. Tenra Bansho Zero and Double Cross have been great additions to my group, but I don't own physical copies of either. Golden Sky stories is charming, but I own it and will probably never play it. I like Japanese board games too! Cheaty Mages and Love Letter are really fun parts of my collection. Any other cool Japanese game, even ones that haven't been translated yet would still be cool (Log Horizon?).
I've been playing more Netrunner lately. The LCG format has been nice to have a way to build decks since I swore off CCGs back in '95. For gifts, I still don't have any sort of playmat, or maybe some more acrylic tokens to go with the credit tokens I already have would be cool.
I also like my war games despite being so bad at them. Infinity is my favorite these days! I don't need any minis, but 3rd edition is dropping soon, and that has all sorts of new templates. I still like 40K but my Tau are sitting pretty idle these days, as are my Fantasy Battle Dwarfs, but more gyrocopters are always better!
I'm always open to weird and wonderful. I'd really like to show off whatever it is you get me, so digital isn't ideal, but still welcome. If you're going to be really goony, I'm OK with that, but keep dicks or whatever on the INSIDE of the box, because your gift will be delivered at my job.

- Baron Snow
Philadelphia, PA

P.S. I solemnly vow that someone's getting a cool gift from me, and that I will take photos and make a big deal out of whatever I receive.

I'm caught up, and I'm not missing any emails from anyone. Good job following rules!

I always feel like there's not much chat going on during these first couple of weeks while people are just posting their wishlists.

So, maybe folks can provide everyone with some help:

What are the new, ~$30 games that are hot right now? Last year, Android: Netrunner and the X-Wing game were hot. If you know of some cool games - stuff you have, stuff you want, stuff you might give, :justpost: and let's hear about it.

Doomtown might come in under 30 bucks and is another Living Card Game. Also Attack Wing, which is like Star Trek (which was like X Wing) only with giant fuckoff dragons.

My brother and I tried out my kickstarted version of Lagoon and it's great. Clearly there's going to be a lot of depth to this game, but it was very easy to figure out and start playing.

I think the kickstarter version has some wooden tokens that might not be in the retail set? There's also a KS-exclusive tile, but it's weird and I'm not sure I'll play with it anyway. The gameplay without those things is the same, you've got plenty of variety for tile sets to use in a game (you use a subset of the hex tiles for each game you play).

Lagoon works very well as a two-player game, and I think it will be good as three-player too. There's a solitare mode I haven't tried. For four-player you play a team game 2 vs 2, basically you play independently but you and your partner add your points together at the end of the game.

I'm in on this sucka again!

Gift Preferences for the main round updated for Lightning Round 2 updated for Lightning Round 3:
here's a big selection of stuff at a variety of price points so you can pick and choose whatever is easier for you to get/order...
Cards Against Humanity (UK edition)
Android: Netrunner
Games Workshop stuff:
- https://www.forgeworld.co.uk Legion Command and Master of Signal
- Dark Eldar Beastmaster
- Dark Eldar Talos

It seems 'anime' is the new 'dongs'? Anyway I don't mind anime but don't want to watch JRPG/high school/tentacle sex monster stuff, if I watch anime it's just the highest-rated stuff I guess (Ghibli stuff, Akira, etc.), most of which I already own (except the very latest Miyazaki film), so if you want to take a chance, I guess...?

Stuff I have enough of/don't want:
Dice (unless you can find loads of casino-style d6 dice cheap)
D&D books (I play but only need the PHB, and I have the 5th ed PHB already)
Paranoia stuff (I went deep on the Kickstarter campaign so I'm getting just about everything they're releasing)
Dropzone Commander stuff (I have the complete 2-player starter set plus another faction starter set already)
paints
airbrush stuff
traditional bristle brush stuff
card stuff (CCG or anything like that)

Location
I'm in the UK but if needed can be matched up with someone in the EU area

I solemnly vow to send my giftee a cool gift in accordance with their desires (or at least what's in their post - please make sure you have your likes/dislikes in there!).

I did this a couple years ago, if I remember correctly. Still have the gifts I got on the shelf, and a very happy LEGO Frodo driving a sports car. Lets do it again now that I have a job, a stable life and an urge to celebrate.

Gift Preferences: I'm a big Magic the Gathering geek, so stuff related to that would be cool. No pre-constructed decks, but shiny/hilarious card sleeves are welcome, or playmats would be fine. Just, er... no My Little Pony/anime softcore porn. Also if you have artistic talent, make this blinged out :frogc00l:

If the above's too much, I'm also into exploring new sci-fi books, and pleasant surprises (fairly SFW).

General Location: UK. Can ship to Europe definitely, and to the US possibly (most likely ordered from a US website)

Solemn Vow: I look terrible in lime green, weird hair-do and Jim Carrey face. I will send promptly and aim to please my Secret Santa and not be a grinch.

I was in this for the first time last year, it was fun, back in again this year

Gift Preferences: I'm a cool guy, I like all sorts of cool things, sometimes things I've never even heard of before and didn't know they were cool until I got them :buddy:. I like arts and books, I like blu rays, I like some non-skeevy anime, I like sci fi. PDFs are ok, but I prefer physical or a combo of both. I hand made some wargaming bases for a santee last year, so if you want to make me something that'd be pretty neat. This is my combined boardgame collection, still en route from kickstarter and wishlist that is bigger than I thought it was, and this is the live list of minis I own/armies I'm collecting (and all of my terrain and surfaces) across all kinds of games. If you look at that list and think "Well that's wrong, he hasn't even started collecting minis from my favourite game yet how does he even know what living is" then I might be into that game too and just not know it yet! If you're really worried I might have something already, on request I can give a more detailed list of my worldly possessions to leperflesh.

Please don't get me:
I'm not really into CCGs like MtG
I have pretty much all of Reaper Bones 2 coming from the KS in the new year, so none of those
Deadzone or Battlezones from Mantic, I basically have everything I'll ever need from the current releases
Dice, unless they're some kind of super rad thing I already have blocks of chessex for 40k, "blocks" of d8s for Deadzone and FATE dice that get used as often as I get to play FATE core :smith:
No MLP

Location: Adelaide, Australia

Solemn Vow: I shall go on to the end. I shall post to France, I shall post over the seas and oceans, I shall post with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, I shall post from my island, whatever the cost may be. Oddball cool miniatures are fine as well. I'm fine with anime/anime merch, but run it past me first just in case.
EDIT: I've been looking into Anima Tactics and Relic Knights recently, so there's another gift idea.

Please don't get: TCG stuff & dice (I have way too much), video games (My gaming backlog is huge and dates back to 2011 or something ridiculous like that, I'm terrible with impulse-buying games), Kingdom Death or other gross/creepy miniatures, MLP.
No dongs, booze or food.

I lurk, I lurk all the drat time and occasionally play in one of the PBP Gurps games. I often think about joining in on the chat thread but you scare me. Despite that, buying one of you a gift sounds super cool.

Gift Preferences:

I'm a terrible human being and unreconstructed grognard, so if you need to unload print copies of the stuff people mock in the chat thread I'm your guy. Right now I'm running Savage Worlds (Solomon Kane) in real life and plan on running Dungeon Crawl Classics and one of the D&D retroclones next. I collect source books and modules for lots of different systems to read and scavenge ideas from, so just about anything fantasy, sci-fi or horror* would be appreciated. 4th edition D&D passed me by completely, but I'm curious about 5th. I love board games.

Anime is cool but I'm sick of things with high school or younger age protagonists.

Please don't send: I've tried to like story games but don't really, especially The Apocalypse World games and Burning Wheel. I am deeply ashamed of that, yes. I'm also not into miniatures, deck building games,Magic the Gathering, anything Munchkin related, Cards Against humanity or Fluxx.

Unfunny dongs would not be fun, overly comical/non-humanoid dongs would be okay I guess.

Hello folks! Figured I'd toss my hat in for this as well.

Gift Preferences - In general, I'm not terribly difficult to please. For general guidance, I'm a big fan of RPGs and board games, as well as X-Wing and Infinity.

For anyone who wants more specifics: I haven't picked up anything 5E yet, but keep hearing great things about that and 13th Age. I'm in the planning phase for a Black Crusade game but currently only own the core book, if whoever gets tagged for me has a particular favorite splatbook for the system that would be good as well. Board game wise I've been eyeballing Tragedy Looper, but I've been growing a collection and would be happy with most things! Worst case and it's already on my growing shelf, I have friends to pass things along to in the event of a duplicate copy of something. X-Wing wise I collect Imperials and could use just about anything besides another shuttle to expand my fleet. Negative, Ghost Rider. The pattern is full. Infinity wise I play Haqq and Military Orders PanO, but have considered expanding into Nomads or CA.

I'm also curious about Malifaux. No real preference beyond 'not the zombie prostitutes.' I'm not familiar enough with the game to have an opinion otherwise beyond not finding that set appealing.

I've got plenty of standard chessex dice, but if you come across anything interesting I certainly wouldn't mind them.

Your General Location - Nevada, USA

Your Solemn Vow - I vow not to be a prick, and to keep up my end of TG Secret Santa. Barring any sudden destruction of the planet or similar large scale calamity.

Hello again Santa; it has been a very long time since we last spoke. I've been a good little Pagan this year - and on the whole this year has been very kind - and I would love to gift to someone this year.

Gift Preferences: A good bottle of dry sack sherry would square me just fine this year. But if that's not possible, I'd gladly accept art compilation books and electronic music CD's. Occult things would be fine as well - staves, books, wands, apparel, etc. - as long as it doesn't get too nutty.

Things I Don't Want: I will not accept Anime (squalid, or otherwise), nor will I accept Sex toys or novelties.

My General Location: Northern Colorado, USA

My Solemn Vow: In light of the good fortune this year has borne, I vow to gift four different people.

TGSS, last year was a pretty good Secret Santa on the getting and hopefully giving end, and now I have way more income to throw at strangers.

Gift Preferences: I actually don't have much in the way of physical game books, and I have absolutely nothing in the way of board/card gaming. I also suddenly have people interested in playing that stuff so something in that direction would be appreciated. I also dig comics and comic accessories, and am totally open to getting dongs, alcohol, and/or anime.

You should NOT send me anything that isn't diabetic friendly, or my Secret Santa Honor will cause me to devour it anyway and that's not good for anyone involved.

Will reign this way again
I loved this last year. Not many of the gifts I got from friends of family were surprises, but what I received from that thread really was, and an awesome surprise at that.

Please TG Santa I would really like: Miniatures, components, and modelling bitz. I'm more of a modeller, collector and painter than a gamer, and I'm always looking for interesting new projects for the oath thread. I collect Astra Militarum / Imperial Guard and Chaos Space Marines for Warhammer 40k, and just about any model for these armies is interesting and useful to me. I particularly like the older metal models, regardless of whether they're covered in old paint - I strip them down, take them apart, and rebuild them into new projects. I'm no purist either; there's all sorts of non-Games Workshop companies out there making parts for these models, and a lot of them are fantastic. I'm also on the lookout for premade resin bases, or basing components, to add character to my models.

I also play Magic the Gathering casually, and I like to wear t-shirts (men's medium).

Please don't bring me: Boardgames or RPGs, comics or anime.

General Location: England, UK

A Solemn Vow: I value my account and my self-respect, and TG has been very good to me - I will not grinch.

Oh boy, time to receive more strange packages from the Internet!!

Gift Preferences: In the realm of Trad Games, I'm looking more at board games than RPGs this year. I have so many RPG systems that I haven't played yet that it would be a shame to add another. Board games are much more suited to a one-and-done setup. I already own Settlers of Catan, Mansions of Madness, Eldritch Horror, Space Alert, and Love Letter, as well as the Star Wars and Lord of the Rings LCGs. I'm up for trying just about anything, but my gaming group tends to place a higher value on "cool theme" and "ease of play" rather than "the pinnacle of game design".

Outside of straight game-related gifts, I'm pretty open to anything that isn't a dong. If you feel absolutely compelled to send me a dong, I guess I'll take it. I like Star Wars (no novels or comics; I literally own all of them) and mecha stuff (I know nothing about Gundams, but the designs are bitchin' cool). If you REALLY want to make me happy on christmas, I'm a huge Super Sentai/Kamen Rider fan. Other than a bunch of Ranger Keys, a Mobirates, and GabuRevolver, and 5 Figuarts (All 3 Season 2 Akibarangers, ShinkenRed, and RedHawk), I don't have a lot of merch from the toku genre.

Gift Preferences: I'm down for pretty much anything - I like wargaming including GW stuff (although I don't need any more rules) - figures would be good, or actually paints, I'm very bad about painting stuff, perhaps some supplies would be useful motivation. If you wanted to get some sort of RPG book, I haven't bought anything recent... recently. I'm more of a reader than a player so something that's an interesting read would be nice. Board/card games are good, the only things I've purchased lately have been Kickstarted so I don't actually have them so you're fairly safe. And I don't hate anime, so your options are open! I'd rather not get a dong, though.

EDIT: If you do get me an RPG, something self-contained would be good. I'm a horrible completionist, please don't start another addiction =)

ANOTHER EDIT: I like printed over .pdf, if the choice exists.

In preparation for Lightning Round EDIT:
More specific things include:
GW - Gargoyle Brood or Aegis Defense Line, or some bits - chaos-y plasma and melta guns and a cyclone missile launcher terminator chest piece (just the chest is good, I've got a launcher but no chest piece for it)
Not exactly GW - This alternate Ragnar Blackmane figure http://legendarion.com/ragnar-blackmane.html; however shipping is slow, so probably not great for the holidays
Board Games - If you can find one discounted somewhere (Amazon is almost but not quite low enough), any of the Battlestar Galactica Board Game expansions
Painting Supplies - A set of brushes, or a starter paint set or similar - something to look at and feel guilty about not painting =)
Solo games and such are good if you know of any interesting ones.
Or of course feel free to find anything else interesting!

Eh, why not. I've hardly spent any money this month.

Gift Preferences: In terms of board games or RPGs I pretty equally favor both. Been reading about a couple of Japanese RPGs and I enjoy their different mindset to game design. Alternatively something simple to play with my friends who aren't into traditional games as much is fine. Will also accept Steam games. Also plushies. I have two shelves of various plushies over the years and I can always make room for more.

In general I dislike things dark and gritty, although mythos stuff is fine. No trading card games or wargame stuff, with the exception of X-Wing. My roommate has a bunch of that, and I wouldn't mind having slowly developing a set of my own. Also for that matter, since I live with this guy, none of these please.

jivjov posted:

I already own Settlers of Catan, Mansions of Madness, Eldritch Horror, Space Alert, and Love Letter, as well as the Star Wars and Lord of the Rings LCGs.

General Location: Kansas City, the one in Missouri.

Solemn Vow: I swear not to grinch, else may my entire plushie collection come to life and stalk me throughout the house during a kharmicly timed power outage leaving me with nothing but a flashlight and a limited supply of batteries.

Fake-edit: If you get Jivjov for secret santa and are concerned about getting him something he already has, message me I will go through his collection while he's at work and tell you if he's got it already. I'm sure he'd do the same if you get me.

All Rolled Up just got posted in the chat thread and they look awesome. They'd make half of a cool gift for anyone looking for ideas.

(not gonna lie I kind of want two, one for game crap and one for my makeup. :v:)

Die, Die, DIE!
Gift Preferences: Really I'm pretty open to anything. Anime, trpgs, steam stuff, comics, anything. I like being surprised and trying new things.

General Location: Washington, the state.

Solemn Vow: I will not grinch lest I be cursed with something terrible and itchy.

Hero of the soviet union.

Gift Preferences: I'm into RPG's, Wargames and general Geekery - I'm just getting back into tabletop wargaming, Drop-zone commander (Scourge and UCM), 6mm-15mm historical's and I've just picked up the starter set for All Quiet on the Martian Front. (fullish list here.) My historical tastes are pretty much any period, and things like Chain of Command and Saga look cool, as do the "heavier" rulesets.

I'm currently getting back into the whole wargaming thing, so I'm short on terrain. Stuff that looks like its from the 1900-1940's in 10-15mm would be the ball park, or general vegetation.

Coal List- No Anime or DnD please! I'm also a online roleplayer, so dice and screens and other physical RPG paraphernalia are of no use to me. I am a Militant Tee-totaller, so any alcoholic beverages will be destroyed with extreme prejudiced.

Location: Oxfordshire, UK.

Solumn Vow The grinch will not abide!

Count me in!

What: I'm primarily into Wargaming (40k, WHFB, Relic Knights, Freebooter's Fate) but also enjoy collecting and painting random Wizards and Dragons. I'm also down with Boardgames, mostly lighter stuff as it's more likely to hit the table. I have a BGG Collection which should be mostly up to date.

I'm also partial to the odd video game. Primarily platformers and assorted shmups, anything from my Wishlist would be appreciated.

Where: Leeds, UK.

Vow: I solemnly vow to not intentionally be a Grinch, lest angry rodents devour my eyeballs.
