Seeing as how Megadeth is my favorite band of all time (despite Mustaine's dickishness), I have quite a few. Back in the Day - (This was on Duck Dodgers. I saw the episode when I was younger and that was how I got into metal) The Right to Go Insane - (That chorus is sexy, that music video amazing) Train of Consequences Ecstasy - (OKAY YES I LIKED RISK, SUE ME) Mary Jane Looking Down the Cross

Into the lungs of hell. It's a hell of a guitar piece and dispels the myth that metal is just a series of noises.

Mechanix I don't even like Mustaine/Megadeth but respect where respect is due. This song owns, and Metallica's Four Horsemen doesn't even hold a candle to it.

Chosen Ones is my favorite Megadeth song. SO underrated/overlooked.

The trick to Megadeth is not listening to the lyrics. Their music is pretty sweet and thrashy, but their lyrics are usually moderately terrible. Tornado of Souls is a really good example of this. Symphony of Destruction is pretty cool. Also she-wolf. And A tout le monde. And Hangar 18. Also unlike a lot of thrash metal bands their more recent stuff isn't really bad. 44 Minutes and Endgame aren't bad.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JYcQDylp8m4 Real talk, the remastered version of Killing Is My Business... is one of my favourite metal albums of all time. It's amazing the sound they were able to get out of the dogshit original tapes. The stereo imaging on the drums is killer. I also love what they did to 'These Boots' in order to be able to include it. Too bad the other remasters all just make every album sound exactly the same. Countdown to Extinction in particular really loses a lot of its charm when it doesn't sound so tinny.

I got into Megadeth in junior high after hearing 99 Ways to Die on the local rock/metal station: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bZTsQ918Q1Y Then I found out a good buddy of mine was into them, he let me borrow a couple CDs and I was a fan from then on.

Zogo posted:Symphony of Destruction: I am sorry: the song itself is very good, but I just can't get over that appalling 'orchestra tuning up' soundbite at the the beginning. It's like finding a little fleck of poo on the top of an ice-cream: even though proportionally, it's tiny, it completely ruins the whole experience.

Lyrics are one area where Metallica comes off better, with Four Horsemen/Mechanix being a great example of that.
