For sitcoms that haven't already been mentioned, Plebs and Friday Night Dinner are pretty good. Also the British Parliament.

Monty Python is a total troll upon people who enjoy British sitcoms unironically (hello, Whovians) and don't realize how loving stupid they look to normal folk with functioning brains.

Father Ted is not a sitcom.

It's an accurate portrayal of life in rural Ireland.

It was funny as gently caress when I was 12, re-watching it now it's dated pretty horribly, and is very much not funny.

All the best sitcoms, British or otherwise, have laugh tracks so I don't mind them. The best ones are when they have Screechy Woman or Coughing Fit Man.

You're right they do but I don't think that makes laugh tracks an okay thing, I love league of gentlemen but drat rewatching it now and it's so weird having a dark comedy with an obnoxious laugh track.

Hello my american friends. The correct answer is Yes, Minister and Yes, Prime Minister. Biting political satire that's as relevant today as it was 30+ years ago.

Was confused by In the Loop when Glen and Ollie's names were changed. Was that to avoid paying some writer who created the original characters?
