the decline with the simpsons started when characters started learning life lessons instead of being awful and learning nothing. edit: marge be not proud was a foul sign of things to come, but even then that episode has some classic jokes in it, thrillho etc

I wonder what the latest instantly recoqnizeable Simpson quote would be? I don't just mean a funny line, but one you could say a loud and most people would know it. Classic quotes like "Zee googles do nothing!" , and "Dental plan!", and "Stupid sexy flanders" would all be season 9 and below. Applewhite posted:Just you wait. Within our lifetime, the sliding chronolgy will have Homer and Marge as millenials. Won't be a terribly long wait either. Home already went from being a hippy to being in a weezery grunge band, when he met marge.

A lot of things that I hate like the jockey trolls and Milhouse's dad getting his arm sliced off would've been hilarious in a Halloween episode. Also, both Matt Groening and Harry Shearer have gone on the record that they despise The Principal and the Pauper. cams posted:4 and 5 tie for best seasons After looking up Season 5 I learned that "Secrets of a Successful Marriage" is a season 5 episode, though I would have placed it post season 10. Also, "Make Room For Lisa" is a season 10 episode, though I would have named it as one of the more classic ones. ("Look, Daddy! A whale egg!")

I always found later episodes of the Simpsons are more funny the second time you watch them. Somehow they don't ever seem to hold up on a first time viewing, which is usually the other way around with a lot of shows.

The Monkey Man posted:"Gay for Moleman" was from season 16. Nobody likes Milhouse! edit: Also, that guy in the army uniform at the gay bar was, in fact, gay for moleman. He literally scooped him up and took him home. Couldn't find a clip of it. edit again: Found it. Crappy quality though, and I guess he more of dragged him off then scooped him https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ohcfJmpFz4Q Shnag fucked around with this message at 20:23 on Nov 20, 2014 |

Season 9 was definitely the turning point. I did think the Hit And Run game that came out well after was pretty funny and a good Treehouse of Horror-type storyline, but I haven't played that since my early teens.

I do think it has gotten better than the dregs of the late teen seasons, even if its hardly noticeable.
