Big cats are not the same as house cats. I recommend checking the Big Cats As Pets section here: http://bigcatawareness.tumblr.com/resources Tl;dr unnecessary injuries occur when people assume big cats are similar to house cats. That's because no big cats have been domesticated, while house cats are (and we know how terrifying a feral/not tame house cat can be). On a lighter note the person who wrote that resource post has worked at Big Cat Rescue which is a pretty rad place with lots of adorable yt videos, like so: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J11uu8L8FTY

Nordick posted:Dogs and wolves also pull their ears back when they're really excited to see someone. If a dog's doing the tight-lipped thing the fox is doing it's probably anxious (depends on the dog though) but for foxes all of the wiggling and nervous-looking behavior is excitement and affection. Fox behavior is pretty neat in how different it is from dogs & wolves. Foxes also can't snarl and make almost purring sounds when they're being pet. What weird little dudes. Here's another animal purring: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rez-u39PKIg

Quesselin posted:My husband of 12 years and I agreed last night that we're getting a divorce. It's amicable, we're going to stay friends, we still care for each other (just not like that), so that's cool and all, but I'm still really, I don't know, sad, disappointed, nervous and stressed about the future, all those things and a thousand more. Cute pics of capybaras and guinea pigs will be especially appreciated, but any cute animals will do. This thread is just the best

When I lived in Ft. Lauderdale, FL there were a ton of those little dudes. Most of their homes had caution tape around them so you wouldn't accidentally disturb the owls.

It also compromises the cubs' immune system (being around all those people constantly touching them). On a lighter note here's a weird lookin' animal: a striped hyena! Like spotted hyenas but fluffy and a little more shy.
