(I'm hoping to see something other than "well, I have a cushy IT job where I basically just get paid to gently caress around on the internet all day.")

It's the best thing in the world, op. I get to put out fires, pull people from burning buildings, and save people having heart attacks and stuff. The pay is awesome, and it's rewarding as all hell.

I do software qa and my job is basically to gently caress around on the internet all day, mostly actually doing my job, but there's enough time for some goofing off too. sometimes i do programming as well. the whole thing is pretty fun and challenging which is important, but also my work is flexible with scheduling/working from home and stuff.

So I like my job a lot op! yay!!

i had a job where i was paid to gently caress around on the internet all day but thats because there was a gigantic work bottleneck and management would rather call endless meetings than actually pay someone to fix it

then they liquidated my entire department because no one could figure out why nothing was getting done ayy lmao im hosed

People speak to me with so much pity about my job (Substitute Teacher in :canada: with plans on becoming a Big Boy Teacher), like my life must be Hell and that everyday that I'm not a real teacher must be miserable and embarrassing for me... but I'm pretty happy with it tbh, and my life is pretty great.

On the other hand I've seen teachers literally get off work and go to a party and drink full glasses of wine and beer in one gulp/ from a bag of wine, so I think some people just are unhappy?

what is a good career to go into if you want a basic kind of job where managers do not swoop in to corner you about getting your unwavering support in their feudal turf wars

because i would like to do that kind of job, where i do work and do not have to sign loyalty pledges

I do networking stuff for a really big company. We do have the metrics and stuff to deal with so it's not like I can slack off all day (or much at all, really) but the work itself is pretty interesting and I like my coworkers for the most part. The downside is that everything is exceedingly technical

You done fucked up now!
well, I have a cushy IT job where I basically just get paid to gently caress around on the internet all day. The hardest part is while I'm browsing imgur during a meeting and I come across a pic that makes me laugh really hard but I have to try to hold it in. Then my boss gives me this look and then I send him a link to the pic on Google hangouts and then he's stuck trying to contain his laughter.

Oh and Sometimes I make fancy PowerPoints.

Seriously though get a job in IT :feelsgood:

my job is ok but it's pretty stressful and also times pretty slow and tedious i realize that it is a good position but i also feel like there's something that's a better fit but the perks are just so good that it's hard for me to even consider anything else

also i have to take vacations every few months because if i don't then i slip into a deep depression so at least it gives me a reason to see the world a bit

Being a sub sounds like a good job if you enjoy teaching. Like, I assume you rarely have to deal with parents and the teachers I know always tell me that parents are the worst part of the job.
