Yeah, Acx, which is amazons distributor and poo poo, slashed the gently caress outta royalties earlier this year. Went from like 60% or something to 40%? Not factoring in royalty share with the narrator, or upfront cost. The people really good at it are booked out like 5 months anyway.

Not a lot - it turns out it's a lot harder to write a bunch of short horror stories than it is to crank out smut. It's a 50/50 split w/my friend and I, and we've each been making about $40 a month off it. I just finished writing a full-length horror novel (my first) and am in the process of revising & redrafting it, when it's done I'll publish it under the same penname and hope some sales bleed over. Regular horror, not sexy horror. Although the book leans that way a little bit, but more in that Clive Barker "this book has some pretty hardcore sex scenes" way than the "hosed and Bred by the Tentacles" way.
