actually some times things are on sale bc the store has too much supply like if they overestimated demand or new product is coming in early sometimes you can get good deals on things you want this way op!

i go to the grocery store late at evening so i get stuff that won't get stale until a couple of days later for -30% that i can deep freeze if necessary. in the small town i was born in the local store puts that stuff in a "almost past date food for your pets" compartment and once the shopkeeper's wife confessed to me that she regularly takes stuff from there for her family dinners as i was looking at a package of ground beef that was marked -50% thrift/second hand stores are like part of our nordic-but-almost-eastern-european culture so buying used clothing and furniture is no big deal
