The one time I tried to let it wash over me, thinking I'd just slip off into sleep, it quickly became exponentially worse.

It only happens a few times a year, usually accompanied by stress.

Yep that's what it's like for me too when I get it falling asleep. I feel like I'm being compressed and there's a loud humming sound. Super unsettling.

I thought I was the only one that actually enjoyed it! It's like being in a scary movie, but just a lot more depth. After a while, you realize that nothing you see can actually hurt you. Another thing that really blew my mind was falling asleep straight into sleep paralysis, all with the same quality of feeling paralyzed and then ultimately falling asleep, all while maintaining conscience.

I wish it was that easy. Been like this for years now. Started right around the time I was dating my ex in 2004. And I had a Grand Prix GT with cooling system issues. If you farted incorrectly it would over heat. I replaced all the cooling system in it plus new head gaskets. Never did fix it, but it would do it completely at random, and never had a specific pattern.

I sleep maybe 6 hours a night if I'm lucky. It's been way less for a while now. Haven't had sleep paralysis, exploding head syndrome or sleep apnoea in a while though thankfully. Last night I had yet another poo poo night sleep. Combination of a lot on my mind, and I tried out a new coffee in the afternoon. It wasn't the stimulant effect. Too much coffee and I get as itchy at all hell all over.

The Lancia is at the auto-electricians. The high stop light we had installed is cutting into the voltage incorrectly, so the indicators don't work when you have the brakes on.

The Celica is being prepared for its first trip around the Coromandel at some point in the next few weeks. I've also got a new garage goal in mind but I have to get another job first.

I really need to make a garage thread or a YouTube channel or something.

What are you doing for ignition? If you have Pertronix or similar, I've heard that they crap out at the worst time. If you have a spare module, bring that. If you use points, grab a cheap points set and throw it in the tool box I guess, although I've never had points just up and fail on me. I guess it's more of a problem with performance motors and high power coils.

Happy belated Thanksgiving, AI. I was visiting my family in CT all week so didn't even get a chance to check in with you all.

Upon my return to work I was given notice that my most productive employee is leaving. That will leave me with two full time and one part time employees when I once managed ten people. The new president of the company has decided that we're doing a "good enough" job with what we have so we're just going to remain completely underwater until the entire loving department decides to leave...which shouldn't be long, as about half of it already has.

In dead Uncle news, the hearing and judgement for the executor of the house and all my grandma's poo poo is on Wednesday. We're hoping that the judge allows my lovely sociopathic aunt to have executor-ship with the stipulation that it has to be bonded. That way we don't have to deal with it, and she has to answer to the bond-holders for every decision and can't run the estate into the ground like she has her own finances. If not, we'll dump money everywhere until the stupid oval office dies and then give it to her son.

So the hearing was today, not tomorrow. My parents just got out of court. The judge had my aunt's number before the thing even started (she was in blue jeans and wasn't respectful at all) and they didn't even have to bring up my uncle. It went that well.

If she wants conservatorship (not executorship whoops) she has to:

1. Be bonded (if she does anything illegal or immoral the bond company is liable)
2. Pay rent at my grandmother's house instead of taking it over rent-free
3. Sell my grandmother's car instead of driving it around
4. Appeal to the court directly for any type of action aside from paying bills

There's also the issue of the will. The original is in all likelihood in a lock-box at the bank, and we were worried she'd destroy it the moment she found it. The judge ordered that either my mother or my cousin (dead uncle's son) be with my aunt the first time she opens it.

Now if we can just settle the wrongful death thing and figure out who murdered my uncle without the jail successfully covering up anything... We will have to wait for the results of the SLED investigation before we know which way that's going.

Turns out there may be justice in the world. :unsmith:

My dad is really losing his mind sadly. Started going downhill big time since he retired after Easter this year

Fun things he is doing:

- Leaving the front door unlocked and wide open

- Leaving milk products out on the kitchen bench, forgetting to put them away.

- Leaving fridge door open

- Giving me a birthday card in December. My birthday is in July.

- Sleeping till 2pm, then watching the TV for most of the time while is awake, on the most annoying lovely TV Home shopping channels

- Supposedly getting paranoid thinking that mum and I are hiding his ute keys as "we don't want him to drive"

As well as other poo poo. Time for respite care for the old bastard, but first mum and I need to get power of attorney on him

My grandfather is having bouts with Alzheimer. It's really tough to watch and he's self aware of it. It doesn't help that my grandmother is a nutcase and is digging her heals in the sand whenever talk comes up to move them out of their house and to a place that will offer more appropriate care.

My mother is basically on call 24/7 when ever poo poo goes tits up with them. She's trying to run a one man business and doesn't have time for that poo poo and her brother is gently caress all useless and just gaslights her whenever she asks for help.
