Spent a good couple of days thinking about this - and it breaks down into two essential categories: Movies my grandmother took me to at my request, but were evidently too bawdy for a grandson/grandmother to sit through: Naked Gun (1988) Book of Love (1990) Bored: Mom and Dad Save the World 1492: Conquest of Paradise Exotica In & Out Inception

My friend and I walked out on Enemy of the State but I don't know if it was because it was actually bad or because we used to do a lot of coke at the time, and doing a few rails and then trying to sit in one place & stay quiet for a few hours was a pretty bad idea.Heavy Petting posted:Movies my grandmother took me to at my request, but were evidently too bawdy for a grandson/grandmother to sit through: Mine was White Men Can't Jump Wintermutant fucked around with this message at 02:41 on Dec 3, 2014 |

Boy, that poo poo was bad. the most common mentions here seem to be stuff like The Happening and Dinner for Schmucks, but ok random thought: Guardians of the Galaxy was fun but I feel burnt out by Disney's generic Marvel formula they have going on. All the Marvel movies are essentially the same.

Kids in the Hall: Brain Candy is the only movie I've ever walked out of in 40-whatever years of moviegoing. I loved the show and so did my date but it was so painful we bailed after about 30 minutes. I came close to walking out on Lawnmower Man.

The adventures of Pluto Nash for me. My gf at the time was working at a theater so I got in for $1 but when they started break dancing I was like "this poo poo isn't worth my time."

Last year I went to a drive in double feature stoned out of my mind. Saw superman (which was ok) but then that lovely after earth movie with will smith and his kid came on and it was so bad I drove off about 20 minutes in Fell asleep during midnight premiere if pirates 3. Woke up to see two boats in a whirlpool shooting at each other and decided to go back to sleep

Never walked out. I sat through The Covenant, The Spirit, AvP 2 and Man of Steel. The only lessons I learned was to go to the theater less often, and also depression.

I've never walked out of a theater, but I've quit watching dozens of movies partway through while at home. There's always something better to do at home, and most movies are so boring.

When I was in college the local theater had a deal where students could see 2 movies per week completely free. So between 2003 and 2007 I saw every single movie that came out. This included Taxi with Jimmy Fallon. I made a lot of bad decisions in college, but that was the worst. It was packed at the beginning because of all the college kids there, and by the end of the movie there was only about 20 people left. It was a movie where Jason Lee and someone who was supposed to be funny were trying to steal money so that Jason Lee's niece could go to Harvard? It had Harvard in the title, I think. Walked out a half hour in and took up smoking to kill time until it finished. Am I doing this right?

If the Lotr movies were closer to the books they'd just be those travel videos for old people where a camera slowly pans over pretty locations with no dialogue/elevator music and every once in a while a hippie comes out from behind a tree to recite a poem about birds

If you took one of those early 70s nature documentary filmstrips where a beardy man almost cries while talking about beech trees over the sound of a flute and you patch in some larp footage and home videos of children singing songs with made up words you'd apparently have what a few people in this thread wish The Lord of the rings movies were

I've never walked out of a theater mid-movie, probably due to being a loving scrooge, but some movies i have never been able to watch to the end at home. The Men who Stare at Goats was mentioned above, what a piece of poo poo. Also despite trying at least twice, I just can't finish Blade Runner. What a snooze.

Lackey Man Ren posted:I wish I had the stones to have walked out on the first Silent Hill movie. I dragged along a bunch of my friends. The director and writer were both competent, so I was incredibly excited. I got the chills when little Cheryl got tackled to the ground and started screaming the town's name over and over. Not the good, spooked chills you expect from a carefully crafted horror movie though; these chills were my subconscious whispering to me "you have made a mistake, you have convinced your friends to make this mistake with you, and the torture you have happily thrown yourself into will last for the rest of the night you stupid, naive bastard". Then came the pointless police chase into the wilderness. By the time the immolation scene and the barb wire rape scene came along, I was openly imploring the movie to stop. There was a lot of gorgeous-looking movie in there, but the stupid never ceased. my girlfriend walked out of the silent hill movie because it was too scary. in retrospect she had better taste in movies than dumb high school me.
