It's been suggested that maybe Games should have a chat thread. I'm not sure if I agree with that but people should have the chance to express themselves and the worst thing that will probably happen is that this thread ends up getting gassed.

Talk about games, gaming, all that other stuff here. Hell, set up an improptu gaming sesh. Share some screenshots. Whatever.

I need to spend more time with the Prime series as a whole; I always end up going to the 2d games with romhacks (like the one for Super Metroid that fixes the wonky aiming and stuff) and I need to quit that and go through all the primes again.

I feel like I'm one of the few people who really did enjoy Metroid II as well; I found it to be way better than the first one even if young me was extremely frustrated by how much harder it was sometimes.

I didn't realize that Yoshi's Island used the FX chip until recently. That game had a neat art style and I remember abusing the mini game rewards to basically never die and own everything.

It's telling that IW only has one texture mod worth using (and it's a decent one) and basically nothing else while Deus ex has a bazillion mods out there.

I only use the giant texture mod everyone does when I play it (with the fix that makes the UI not explode) but I hear there are some decent ones that change other stuff.

Hell no. It had some neat concepts with it and I do think that if you can get it for like 5 bucks it's worth a play through. I'm glad that HR took more from the first game and less from the second though.

If you are running anything in SLI or have a dual core processor (which you probably shouldn't if you're buying these games anyhow) the game shits itself horribly. Other than that I've noticed stuttering that got much better for me after the 1.5 patch. However, the same patch introduced a memory leak that ubi has at least recognized and stated that they're working on.

FC4 and AC:U are worlds apart in terms of quality; Ubi has a long way to go with it (1 save slot? dumb.) but comparing the two is kinda eh.

The plot is half-assed to the point where it seems like they didn't recognize any of the issues in Far Cry 3 for what they were and just assumed the only problem with it was that Jason Brody was white, which is at the core of the problem but doesn't excuse all the other poo poo. So they've made Ajay a token native and conveniently manage to cover up most of his arm (the only part you see of him) with a tracksuit and leather gloves, just incase people buy it and accidentally see some brown skin.

That aside, they also seem to completely latch on to the most stupid poo poo imaginable to improve while the real things they should focus on seem to be on the periphery. Stealth is poo poo and broken. People complain that the stealth in Far Cry 2 is broken in one way, the stealth in FC4 is broken in the opposite. You can kill a guy with a gunshot to the skull and people will just look around a bit and decide "Maybe it was the gun-shooting bird of Kyrat" and not do anything. No alarms, no nothing.

The guns could be great, but they've decided the best way to 'balance' them is to make the cool guns all signature and severely limit the options for customization on every other gun. So you can't build a cool silenced rifle unless it's of a certain type, or if you buy the signature version, which may have crap on it you don't want.

Only the plus side they now have more animals! This an amazing thing, for sure, as now instead of shooting the lock off a cage to take over an outpost and having a tiger or a cassowary, you can now have a ton of extra model swaps!

It also has actual loving Cliff Racers, but even more annoying, yet this is somehow a good thing.

A2 is a lot better and more complete of a game, but still not as good as the original Tactics. I recommend playing it, there's no need to play the first one beforehand as there's little to no relevant story connection.

I enjoy games that can be broken horribly like that but I can see why some people might not.
