I do like that this game gives you quest XP. That was a pretty rare bonus in Dragon Quest.

It's pretty neat that there's just a little treasure cave hiding out for you to go explore and loot.

Do the Vanguard actually prevent you from melee-attacking Balthalas before they're all dead, or are they just there to add damage to the pile so it's a good idea to take them out first?
