basically here is what I know about finance: 1. I'm pretty well off compared to most 2. debt is bad 3. budgeting is done but not very strictly 4. economics used to be good and nice in the era of ordoliberalism that made sense but nowadays everyone is going insane with corruption under the guise of neoliberalism 5. don't try to time the market?

Real answer: John Bogle's "Common Sense on Mutual Funds" He founded the investment house Vanguard based on an investment strategy that he came up with while still in college at Princeton. His whole theory is that stock brokers are retards who over any considerable period of time never beat the natural rise of the market and thus all the money you are paying these swindlers is really just taking away from your bottom line. He really the only investment guy who I have any respect for.
