Love Always,

The 2015 edition of the U/20 IIHF Hockey Championships start next Friday, December 26th, co-hosted by Toronto and Montreal. Pre-tournament exhibition games start tonight!

Groups

Each team plays each other team in their group in the round robin play, the top team in each group gets a bye to the semi-final while the second team plays the third team in the other group. So:
[1A vs (2A vs 3B)] vs [1B vs (2B vs 3A)]

Rosters are yet to be finalized, teams have until December 23rd to submit their roster.

Schedule

TSN will be showing most if not all of the games in Canada. NHL.com usually streams all the Team USA games online, I'm not sure where you would watch them on TV outside of Canada(NHL Network, probably), please advise.

Playoff schedule:
pre:
Friday, Jan. 2
1 p.m. ET - Quarter-final - Montreal, Que.
3 p.m. ET - Quarter-final - Toronto, Ont.
5 p.m. ET - Quarter-final - Montreal, Que.
8 p.m. ET - Quarter-final - Toronto, Ont.*

Sunday, Jan. 4

8 p.m. ET - Semifinal - Toronto, Ont.*

Monday, Jan. 5
4 p.m. ET - Bronze medal game - Toronto, Ont.
8 p.m. ET - Gold medal game - Toronto, Ont.

*If Team Canada qualifies for the Quarter/Semi-finals, their game will be in the 8pm slot.

He was also highly thought of for a long time, including being a 1st round pick and being on the team last year, and Team Canada absolutely cares about that stuff as it's continued choice of goalies shows. Just ignore the fact he hasn't improved at all from age 16.

Considering his PPG has stayed basically exactly the same, it's safe to say he's actually regressed severely since his draft -1 season. He's two years out from being drafted, if a forward (particularly a centre) isn't putting up at least 1.25ppg in the CHL their chances of making the NHL in any vaguely serviceable capacity are essentially nil. Even Michael McCarron is managing 1.4ppg with the Knights last year and he was laughably bad a season ago.

Yesssssssssss Jesse Puljujärvi made the roster. Already getting shades of Sasha Barkov when he made the team as a 16-year-old.

Also, if the defence isn't over-performing like crazy, this team is not making the medal rounds this year. Forwards and goalies own, though.

There's nothing wrong with Virtanen as a prospect and you shouldn't hate him. He plays an exciting, hard nosed style that will at worst leave him as a bottom six guy in the NHL and quite possibly a fan favourite. The only reason to dislike him is because there were far better players on the board at 6th overall.
