I know a chick who owns a pit bull and it seemed cool and chill the one time I saw it for five seconds, but Superconsndar's posts seem knowledgeable and good and I agree everyone should stop letting them breed and neuter all of them forever because we shure as poo poo aren't going to ever get any form of responsible beast wrasslin style dog fights ever again if they even ever existed like that.

I am regularly contacted by out-of-state police departments to check on the welfare of recently adopted ex-fighting pit bulls from their jurisdictions by people living in my town. I go to these houses and check to make sure that the dogs are getting fed properly and that their wounds have healed. I also make sure that the dogs aren't still being used to fight. Most times, the dogs are friendly and seem to be adjusting well to their new owners and lifestyles. I take time to warn the new owners of what they are getting into by owning an ex-fighting dog. I keep a list of which houses I've been to for this reason. More than half of the addresses on my list have had officers return within a couple of months in response to dog bites requiring medical attention and health department quarantines. Pit bulls are murder dogs and ultimately cannot resist their selectively bred urge to kill.

It's just that they're usually older than toddlers when they do it. But those pit bulls were 8 so they were well beyond toddler age too.
