Oh god starbound That game had one of the largest gaps between how fun I thought it would be and how fun it actually was that I've ever experienced

I played distant worlds once for a very short period of time. It was extremely complicated and there were tons of interactions between all these little ships and stations and whatnot. It was really fun but learning how to do anything other than watch was more than I felt up to at the time. It's definitely a game to buy if you're into complexity. However, it is far more complicated than modern paradox games, so make sure you're up to it.
