But I'm sure him calling Kassian's points last year useless because they were scored in "garbage time" helped his trade value

I mean he's right, but yeah it's probably not his place. Kassian is a fairly run of the mill skilled fourth line forward if he's not using his strength. He's about as effective as Matthias with the way he's chosen to play this year. I don't get people's fascination with him, he's a pretty unspectacular player and if he's not being physical he's a total non factor. He's out of the lineup because he's been our 13th best forward so this year. Still, I'm not opposed to Benning publicly criticising him. If that doesn't light a fire under his rear end nothing will.

He plays like Taylor Pyatt lite right now.

Either way I'm just glad we'll get to see Teuvo play up here for a while

i'd like to see hickey carry the puck more but he doesn't really have to because he's always paired with visnovsky and lubo always does that on his own, and also because his passing is his strongest asset, especially under pressure. he is really good at making smart and calm decisions with the puck. he's somewhat over-permissive in terms of the space he gives opposing forwards on the rush but it's by no means a dealbreaker. he's a good enough skater not to do that but i think he's (and the other defensemen on the team for that matter) under a coaching imperative to hang back through the neutral zone. i honestly think any one of the isles' 3 regular D pairings could replace at the very least the worst regular pairing on any other team in the league and be an improvement
